Nigeria’s Flamingos will look to complete the job when they take on Guinea in the second leg of their 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifying fixture.
The encounter will hold at the Remo Stars Stadium Ikenne on Sunday.
Flamingos In Control
The Flamingos head into the encounter with one foot firmly in the next and final round of the qualifying campaign following an emphatic 5-0 victory in the first leg played in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
It was a performance filled with confidence, attacking quality, and tactical discipline.
Since returning from Côte d’Ivoire, preparations have continued in Ikenne with the technical crew maintaining the intensity in training sessions despite the comfortable first-leg advantage.

Head Coach Akeem Busari admitted that managing the mentality of the players after such a dominant first-leg result remains one of the biggest tasks for his coaching crew.
According to Busari, overconfidence can naturally set in after a heavy victory, but the emphasis in camp has been on maintaining discipline and continuing the team’s development process.
The coach compared the situation to preparing for examinations, insisting that success only comes through continuous work and repetition.
He also stressed that Guinea remain a dangerous side capable of responding strongly, adding that the Flamingos still have a responsibility to deliver another impressive performance in front of their home supporters.
“It happens in football because at the time when you are above a team in terms of goal-scoring and equally in performance, complacency will really set in as a human,” Busari was quoted by thenff.com.
” I see Guinea as a team that can still want to fight back. On our side, we still need to give more because we are playing at home. Our fans want to see the beauty of the game, we want to showcase what we have, we want to win excellently.”

NFF and Madugu have collected big bribes to cripple Falcons.
Who praised local coaches to handle falcons should take a bow for successfully dismantling the only national team that brings real pride to the nation
No list of players with only 4 days to supposed friendly with Senegal.
Even Senegal didn’t release list.
Or was it another “better days ahead” SCAM seen before the Congo DR CAS failure by NFF?
If falcons do not play in the final friendly window next month before the late July WAFCON, they will NOT GO TO THE WORLD CUP next year by being direct semi finalists.
The women’s game on the continent has changed rapidly because NFF chose stagnation for falcons and perhaps in their boardroom with other caf nations have really sold super falcons for blood money.
How best to cripple the perennial champions other than to not prepare them for a championship they won less than a year ago.
Falcons glory have been exchanged for serious corruption.
Oh, waldrum would have troubled glass house since.
Falcons have been buried and NFF powered by Gusau just erected the sepulchre.
Barca were famous for total football.
Gusau and NFF finally completed total destruction of Nigerian football AT ALL LEVELS.
Flamingos are doing this to what end, really? I’ll watch your match sha.
May the affliction by Gusau and NFF powered destruction not arise again after September elections, amen
