Villarreal manager Javi Calleja has heaped plaudits on Samuel Chukwueze and his team-mates for their spirited performance in Saturday’s 1-0 away win against Celta Vigo.
Chukwueze took the place of Gerrard Moreno in the 58th minute and had a hand in Manu Trigueros’ 92nd minute winner.
“We put in a complete performance, from the start to the end. We could have scored in the first half. After the break, it was a bit more balance, until the last few minutes. We were more vertical then and the players we have made the difference,” Calleja told the club’s official website.

“We keep on mentioning the importance of the whole squad. There’s a lot of action in not many games. Today we knew how to cope with the game and we created chances. Those who came off the bench knew what the game needed. The hard work by everyone was extraordinary.
“We showed a lot of personality from the very start.
We were balanced and took control of the ball. We lined up with a 4-4-2 and we were very balanced. I’m very happy because we’ve got a win at a tough stadium to visit.”
Chukwueze has scored three goals and recorded three assists in 27 league appearances for the Yellow Submarine this season.
