Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum has provided positive injury news update on defender Ashleigh Plumptre, reports Completesports.com.
Plumptre missed the Super Falcons 2-0 victory against the Mares of Botswana on Thursday due to injury.
The 24-year-old sustained the injury in the team’s 2-1 defeat to the Banyana Banyana of South Africa.
“We trained earlier, so we have an idea of where she is in her recovery,”Waldrum told a press conference.
“But there’s a possibility that we will hold her again just to make sure she gets ready for the quarterfinals.
“Still, we would consider giving her some game time to get some minutes under her belt before the quarterfinal match. However, it all depends on the doctor.
“Nonetheless, if the game against Burundi were the quarterfinal, she would be playing.
“She’s capable of playing, but we also want to be smart.”Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved. The information contained in Completesports.com may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed without the prior written authority of Completesports.com.
