Moroccan and Zambian players observed one minute silence in honour of late former Super Eagles goalkeeper Peter Rufai.
The minute silence was done before the kickoff of this year’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco on Saturday.
Morocco snatched a late equaliser to force Zambia to a 2-2 draw in the Group A opener.
Rufai passed away on Thursday at aged 61 after a prolonged illness.
He featured for the Super Eagles from 1983 and retired from international football in 1998.
During his time with the Super Eagles, Rufai appeared at three African Cup of Nations (Côte d’Ivoire 1984, Maroc 1998 and Tunisia 1994).

Rufai played a key role as the Super Eagles won the 1994 AFCON after coming from a goal down to beat Zambia 2-1 in the final.
Also, he was in for at the USA 1994 and France 1998 World Cups.
At club levels he kept goal for clubs like Lokeren, Deportivo La Corona, Go Ahead Eagles, Gil Vicente and Farense.
