Super Falcons midfielder Michelle Alozie has won the Player of the Match award after delivering a tireless and stellar defensive performance to help Nigeria secure a 1-0 victory over Zambia at the ongoing 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Recall that the Super Falcons defeated Zambia 1-0, thanks to a goal from Asisat Oshoala in the eighth minute of the encounter.

Nigeria played with 10 players for over half the game after Oluwatosin Demehin received a red card in the 40th minute.
However, Alozie’s tireless work in the midfield prevented the Zambians from causing any serious threat in the Super Falcons defence.

The win takes Nigeria to second with a superior head-to-head and need to beat Egypt convincingly in their final group stage match to advance to the quarter-finals.
With Malawi already top of the group with six points, Nigeria’s next game against Egypt is a must-win, as a draw might see Zambia climb above the Super Falcons in Group C on goal difference.

It has taken a humiliation from a debutant Malawian and outcry from lay fans like us for world class Madugu to know his best XI for games. The same way it took humiliation from the hands of DRC for Chelle to know the right tactics to deploy in the SE too….. LMAOoo
È for try the starting line up whey he use for Malawi again na…..LMAOooo.
Who says there’s nothing like natural position in football….?
Can anyone compare Alozie at RB Vs Alozie at LB……Or Alozie at LB Vs Imuran at LB….?!
First rule of coaching…….play people in their natural positions. But no, tactless Madugu almost experimented away our world cup ticket.
Congratulations to Michelle on this award winning performance.
Big congratulations and hugs @pretty Alozie
