The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has praised Asisat Oshoala for her impressive performance for the Super Falcons in their hardfought win against Zambia.
After coming off the bench in the shock defeat to Malawi, Oshoala was named in the starting lineup, as the Super Falcons edged out Zambia 1-0 despite playing with 10 players. Tosin Demehin was sent off for a foul on Barbra Banda.
Oshoala netted the only goal in the eight minute as she outpaced a Zambia defender to get to Rasheedat Ajibade’s long pass and slotted past the keeper.
Aside getting the all important goal, Oshoala put in a tireless performance as she constant menace to the Copper Queens defenders before going off.
The goal was enough to seal the three for the reigning African champions as they revive their campaign.
After posting a video of Oshoala celebrating her goal against Zambia, CAF wrote on X:”Still got it. Still showing it. Energy of the Day today.”
The Super Falcons must now beat Egypt in their final group game on Wednesday to advance to the quarterfinals.
