Former Nigeria international Ifeanyi Udeze has warned the Super Falcons to step up their performance despite qualifying for the WAFCON 2026 quarterfinals.
The Super Falcons booked their place in the last eight after a dominant 6-2 win against Egypt in their final Group C match on Wednesday.
Goals from Asisat Oshoala (penalty) Gift Monday, Uchenna Kanu, Christy Ucheibe (penalty) and Joy Omewa sealed the crucial win for the reigning champions.
Despite qualifying for the quarterfinals, their performances in the group stage have been a cause for concern, which is see as not being convincing.

And reacting after the win against Egypt Udeze, speaking on BRILA FM, said:”Falcons need to step up and wake up because the way they’ve been playing I’ve not seen the Super falcons that we know. We all saw how they qualified for the quarterfinals so for me I think they just have to step up.
“I’ve not seen that zeal and hunger to win and now they are in the quarterfinals and will face Cameroon so they need to do more.”
