Deo, where are you? It’s 60 minutes and 2-2 in Malawi at this time.
Come and see your “a professionally produced, purposefully presented powerful performance” team (your writeup last week) working “wonders” in under one week.
OUR CADET FOOTBALL IS GONE, REALLY GONE. You did well ignoring the obvious flaws of this team.
Who is Malawi?
Nigeria has qualified, despite losing 1 -2 away to Malawi, nicking the ticket with a 3 – 2 aggregate score.
I must say that despite the loss, I was impressed with the Falconets. They dominated the game and were unlucky not to pull a draw (which you could tell they were desperate to achieve, despite the fact they could still have qualified with a 1 3 loss, considering the away goals rule) or win outright.
Ghana was also on the verge of losing the ticket to Uganda after going down 0 -1 to the hosts. They got the equalizer in the 80th minute.
One thing to take away is that women’s football in Africa is a lot stronger than even one year ago, especially among southern African teams. I’m hoping the Super Falcons are taking note. I watched as even SA struggled to qualify for the WAFCON, almost losing it to DRC. They got the lone goal to go through at the last minute, thanks to their comeback talisman, Khagtlana.
Ticket to the FIFA WC 2027 is not a given o. Let NFF be dragging its feet with preparations. As it is, our talisman, Okoronwko Esther, may not have recovered from her injury before WAFCON in July, which doubles as the WC qualifier, which means all the participating teams will be doubly determined.
I know CS will not publish this until after they have published the Falconets’ qualification news cos they don’t want someone else breaking it here. I know their way.
