Flying Eagles head coach Aliyu Zubairu says his side will now fight to win the trophy at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations after securing a place at the World Cup.
The seven-time champions beat holders Senegal 3-1 on penalities in the quarter-final on Wednesday to earn a berth at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.
Nigeria will be up against South Africa in the semi-final in Ismailia on Thursday.
“We will do everything to bring the trophy back home,” Zubairu declared.

“We’re going fully for the trophy after we secured our place at the World Cup.”
Zubairu also hinted that he has a good idea of the Amajita.
“I was at the stadium and watched South Africa against DR Congo,” he added.
“We therefore have a good idea of how they play.
“They’re a good side, but we hope to neutralise their strengths and capitalise on their weaknesses.”

The South Africans are fast and do a lot of running, they like to keep the ball on the ground, and have a few sleek strikers.
One-on-one, we should dispatch them 3 – 1, as we look like a more complete team, but FE must be 100% alert to prevent these guys from stealing a victory from under their noses with a quick counter.
I love this coach…He has greatness in him,i want to believe he will win us our first under20 world cup!
