Wilson Expects More To Come Form Cherries

Callum Wilson says he feels Bournemouth “are only playing at 60 per cent” and is confident “we have a lot more to come”. Bournemouth sit in the seventh spot in the Premier League after a draw with fellow high-flyers West Ham on Saturday at the Vitality Stadium.

It could, and maybe should, have been better for the Cherries as Wilson himself had a great chance of putting them two clear goals ahead when the score was 2-1 but he missed a one on one chance with Hammers substitute goalkeeper Roberto. The Hammers equalised moments later and Bournemouth had to settle for a point.

Wilson is happy with the start Eddie Howe’s men have made to the season but believes they are not yet playing at their best and believes they could be doing a lot better both individually and collectively.

Wilson said: “I think we are only playing at 60 per cent. “We have a lot more to come” “There’s key players missing but also, the ones who are playing – including myself – we’ve still got a lot more to give. “We are nowhere near where we can be performing at our best, but we are getting results at the moment which is a positive sign.”

Wilson himself is on a nice scoring streak with his goal against Manuel Pellegrinni’s side being his fifth in four games but he has warned the side they need to get their act together at the back. Wilson believes they cannot rely on the strikers netting three goals a game every week and they need to be tighter at the back.
Bournemouth are next in action against Arsenal away on Saturday.
