Wilson Revels In Falcons Extension

Mark Wilson says he is delighted to have signed a new contract with Newcastle Falcons until 2023. Wilson has been with the Falcons since 2010 and he was an integral part of the team that finished fourth in the Premiership last season – the club’s best finish for 20 years – and reached three semi-finals.

The 29-year-old back-rower has also worked his way into the England set-up and his last Test appearance came in the 37-18 victory over Australia at Twickenham on November 24.

He has now committed his future to the north-east outfit by penning a new four-year contract and the Cumbrian is delighted to continue plying his trade his Newcastle.

“This is the club that I love and I’ve been here for 14 years of my life, so it’s great to be able to extend that. My family is here, I class Newcastle as home and I enjoy being part of the whole club,” he told the club’s official website.

“We get really well looked after here as players, the off-field support is great and I enjoy the coaching every day. It means I can just focus purely on getting things right on the field, and that’s what I’m looking forward to doing over the next four years.”
