Cote d’Ivoire head coach Emerse Fae has expressed disappointment with his team’s defeat to Germany, Completesports.com reports.
The two-time African champions took an early lead through Franck Kessie, and wasted a number of chances afterwards.
Germany then rallied after the break scoring twice through substitute Deniz Undav to secure a place in the Round of 32.
Fae Rues Cote d’Ivoire’s Wastefulness
Fae admitted his team could have shown greater composure and decisiveness in their efforts to find a second goal.
“It’s more frustration that we’re feeling after this defeat, because we were able to open the score against this strong German side,” Fae told reporters.

“A difference in experience that meant in the chances that we did have at the end of the game, where we needed to find the back of the net, we were hesitant.”
Curaçao Now In Sight
Despite the setback against Germany, Fae was keen to move on, and expressed satisfaction with his side’s overall display.
“We’re going to use this game as a lesson to try and fine-tune the mistakes, our shortcomings that we still have, and that will help us go as far as possible,” he said.
“Our destiny is still in our hands, or our feet.
The Elephants will face Curaçao in their last group game on Thursday.
