Quinten Timber will miss the Dutch national team’s second group match at the World Cup against Sweden this Saturday.
According to Reddit, the Olympique Marseille midfielder suffered a mild concussion during training on Thursday.
The collision occurred during the closed-door portion of the training session on the pitch of Kansas City Current, out of sight of the media. Only the first fifteen minutes of the practice session were open to the press.
Timber, who turned 25 yesterday and came on as a substitute against Japan, previously saw his twin brother Jurriën pull out of the final tournament. The Arsenal defender joined the Dutch squad later during their preparations but ultimately dropped out just before the friendly match against Uzbekistan in New York.
The Dutch national team will train one more time in their home base of Kansas City on Friday morning. In the afternoon, they will fly to Houston, where a press conference is scheduled at the stadium in the evening.
