Tunisia head coach Hervé Renard has urged his players to give their all and secure victory in their final Group stage match against the Netherlands at the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026.
The Carthage Eagles were eliminated from the tournament after suffering a heavy 4-0 defeat to Japan on Sunday.
The North Africans had earlier endured a disappointing start to their campaign, losing 5-1 to Sweden in their opening fixture.
Tunisia became the first African nation to crash out of the competition.
Despite their elimination, Renard stressed the importance of ending the tournament on a positive note by delivering a strong performance against the Netherlands

Tunisia Must Bounce Back
“We were too soft defensively. The players tried and never gave up.But we came up against a team that is far superior to us,” Renard said after the game.
“You have to keep fighting in difficult moments like these. We will need to show pride and character to approach the third match in the best possible way.”
Renard On Defeat To Japan
Renard also reflected on his team’s humiliating defeat to Japan.
“Japan beating us 4-0 is not a surprise to me at all. People keep underestimating this team,” added the Frenchman.
” Their movement, discipline and finishing are on another level. In my opinion, Japan are one of the top three favourites to win this World Cup.”

Herve Renhard is an opportunist. He saw another opportunity to coach a team at the World Cup fall into his lap on a platter and grabbed it with both hands, knowing he wouldn’t be able to do jack.
Anyways, no one turns down a chance to earn a quick buck.
They’ll be lucky to escape another rout against the Netherlands.
They say football is not mathematics.
Football better not be mathematics. Indeed, for Tunisia’s sake, we are on bended knee begging football to please, please, please, refrain from being mathematics!
Because if football is mathematics, Tunisia is better off abandoning their upcoming game against the rampant, rampaging Dutch team.
A Dutch team that put 5 goals past Sweden, who themselves shook Tunisia’s net 5 times.
If football is mathematics, that suggests that Holland can potentially grab 10 goals against the Carthage eagles.
Hehehe, we know football doesn’t work like that. But this game has got to be the scariest game for the Tunisians in a while. They will be going into that game shivering and fretting, like a goat about to enter the Lion’s den.
Unfortunately for them, Holland is loaded with some serious fire power up front. Forwards in form and hungry for goals. Gakpo, Brobbey, Summerville, Malen, DePay. These guys are just itching to inflict damage to the max, and Tunisia is fresh meat. They are licking their lips, eager to devour and consume Tunisian pride.
The Tunisians will have to really dig dip to escape annihilation in this game. The Orange are going to be out for blood, and Tunisia are set to bleed copiously. If they somehow survive that game, then their world cup participation would have been validated. They will no longer be considered a wasted African slot.
Tunisia desperately need a hero right now. Holland has thrown down the gauntlet. Let hostilities begin.
