An injury time goal earned hosts Ghana a hard fought 3-2 win against Côte d’Ivoire in the third place match at the 2022 U-17 WAFU Zone B tournament on Friday.

After losing to Nigeria and Burkina Faso in the semi-finals, both Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire headed into the match with the hope of ending their campaign at the tournament on a high.

With the game tied at 2-2 and heading for penalty shootout, Abdul Razak Salifu netted in the 92nd minute to seal the win for his side.

This 3rd place amounts to nothing. It does not take anybody to the u17 AFCON or the u17 world cup. Up Ghana the great underachievers of Africa !!!

    • Selfmade KING 2 years ago

How are we great underachievers when we are the only AFRICA nations to have won two fifa tournaments

      Under 17

      Under 20

Nigeria only fifa under 17 and nothing else

      Ivory Coast -0

      Egypt-0

      Cameroon-0

      Senegal-0

      Morocco -0

      Algeria-0

With the exception of Ghana, no one has won 2 fifa organized tourneys

      So shut the hell up

I told you guys of the referee’s tribe. He’s GA-Adangbe man. Historically, they have a lot in common with Yoruba’s. They and Ewes are more accommodating than Akans.
So far, he’s being very fair to Golden Eaglets, almost every decision has gone Nigeria’s way, even to the fury of Ghanaian fans (who’re obviously supporting Burkina Faso). Lol

That number is just committing fowls in vital areas. Why did Ugbade drop that number 10 Okeke?? Is he injured?? He was a big foil for Oyebanjo and Ebube Okere in the middle.

Jokes aside, one Ghanaman that impressed me was that Appiah lad, the number 11.
He’s actually a Ghanaboy, as he can’t be more than 18. He’s one of my favourite players in the tournament.
His dribbling skills and football sense was a delight to watch.
He will soon be invited to the Banku Shysters, me thinks.
One day soon, he might be leading a Ghanaman assault against Nigeria. He is a talent to watch.
