Emmanuel Michael picked up his third Man of the Match award at the WAFU B U-17 tournament, after helping the Golden Eaglets come from behind to beat Côte d’Ivoire 3-1 in Tuesday’s semi-final.
Michael scored two free-kicks in the first half, to cancel out Yan Diomandi’s second minute opener from the penalty spot for Côte d’Ivoire.
All of Michael’s three goals at the ongoing regional tournament have come from free-kicks.
He picked up the Man of the Match award in the 4-2 win against hosts Ghana in the opening game.
Also in the 3-1 win against Togo in their second Group A game, he was adjudged the best player.
Up next for Michael and his Eaglets teammates is the final against either Ghana or Burkina Faso on Friday.
