AFCON 2021: ‘Best Super Eagles Performance In Recent Years’ –Oliseh Reacts To Nigeria’s Win Against Egypt

Former Nigeria international Sunday Oliseh has described the Super Eagles Performance against Egypt as the best in recent years.

The Eagles outclassed a Mohamed Salah-led Egyptian side, sealing a 1-0 win at the ongoing AFCON.

Kelechi Iheanacho was the hero as his first half volley was enough to secure all three points.

It was their first win against Egypt since the 1990 edition in Algiers.

And looking back on the win Oliseh, 1994 AFCON winner, wrote on Twitter:”Technically, tactically, physically, mentally & whatever positively you can think of, Eguavoen’s led super Eagles, I feel, dominated Egypt & is, the best S.E performance in recent years. At this rate,we can be extremely optimistic my people. Moses Simon player of the match?”

The team’s next fixture is against Sudan, who were held to a goalless draw by Guinea-Bissau.

My brothers and sisters, that was simply monumental. The only I will add is that the NFF is now left with no option than to look inwards to harness the bountiful resources inherent, we won’t shout too much. I’m optimistic that Super Eagles will rule the World of football soon if only we put our acts together. Good luck Coach Eguavoen and his men, God bless Nigeria.

That was a separation of the men from the boys. Egypt will live to remember Eguavoen tactics. And for our FA, only God knows how they are going to convince us with that no CV quack they brought from Venezuela now that Egu defeated every odd. Good Luck S.E.

@ Charles Oboli, from goal dot com to other online threads, Eguavoen is already trending, meaning offers might come from Venezuela and Portugal the homeland of Peseiro. Ha ha ha, NFF, over to una…..Hopefully, Eguavoen men will overcome Sundan in their next match. Good luck SE.

    Spot on Oliseh!

Super Eagles made Nigerians proud yesterday and it’s such a nice feeling. However, this win shouldn’t get into the team’s head, there’s no need to dwell too much on the euphoria, it’s in the past so you guys should leave it there and look towards overcoming Sudan as there are no small team in this tournament. Securing maximum points against Sudan would be another warning to other teams and that won’t come by just wishing, requires hard work.

Super Eagles have painted themselves so colourful for everyone to see and I’m really happy we have that fear factor again, we must live up to it.

Eguavon, you’re doing well, you silenced your critics as I haven’t been seeing much of their comments since yesterday. Keep up with the good job and always remember fans will only cheer a winning coach plus some people are waiting for you to put a foot wrong but God pass dem.

    God bless OUR OWN
    God bless Super Eagles

  • I wanted to witness 5 quality and memorable matches from the Super Eagles in this tournament and they delivered the goods in yesterday’s heartwarming victory against Egypt.

So 4 more games to go. Anything outside that remains Dreamland for me. Based on the beautiful nature and ultimate outcome of yesterday’s game, I have no doubt that the Super Eagles will deliver the expected minimum number of games for me with the fabulous and entertainment outlook that I am expecting.

On a slightly different but related note, my interest and love for “table soccer” has grown in leaps and bounds following how Eguavoen brought to life his tabular illustration in a most ruthless and refreshing manner against Egypt. 🙂

The greatest accomplishment yesterday was how Eguavoen corralled the Super Eagles fans around what he is trying to achieve. Finally we are starting to feel invested in the national team again. We felt carried along with the direction of travel of the Super Eagles. The emotional bond with the national team has been resurrected and the brand identity that we associate with our much beloved brand is revived.

Well done Eguavoen and well done Super Eagles! We love you all.

I didn’t watch the live telecast because i was nervous not knowing what to expect but when i saw the play back, i can only say, coach Eguavon, “na you biko”. Best SE team performance in eons. Weldone lads. Now on to the next one. God bless Nigeria.

Super Eagles performance yesterday was a master class, the type we have not seen for the past 6 years. Thank you so much Mr. Eguavoen, you made all Nigerians proud yesterday.

Take the matches one at a time. Prepare very well for Sudan.

I want to say here that Victor Moses, surprised me yesterday, I have been so critical about his unconvincing display in the past. I now know better, he is such a fantastic player. Our coach brought out the best in him.

For the first time in many years, I watched the Eagles with feeling of satisfaction and contentment. My Moroccan friend was the first to congratulate me.

This is monumental. Up Super Eagles.
