Bafana Bafana defender, Terrence Mashego is upbeat the team will secure a place in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, reports Completesports.com.
Hugo Broos’ side will battle three-time champions Nigeria in the semi-final at the Stade de la Paix, Bouake on Wednesday.
The Super Eagles defeated the Bafana Bafana 2-1 the last time both teams met at the quarter-final stage of the AFCON five years ago in Egypt.
Mashego however believes the result will be different this time around.
“It’s going to be a difficult game, you know Nigeria has a good squad but also on out outside we have a good squad, so it’s going to be a very good game,” Mashego was quoted by idiskitimes.
“We’re [confident] in our defence, we’ve gone for four games without conceding, [like Nigeria] we’re ready for any battle.
“I’d say we don’t want to pressurise ourselves, so we just have to take it one game at a time and we might find ourselves in the final.”

If Osimhen starts this match South Africa will have no hiding place. A lot of noise from this Mamelodi Sundowns players and facts is that they’ll loose by 3-0 tomorrow and I’m not guessing here!!!
How can you start Osimhen in this game after 5 previous high intensity game that he has played and run himself around. In football there is wear and tear and the muscles need time to recover… We have capable other players that can start in his place, we should not be a team where if one key individual isn’t ready, we feel our contest won’t get started. Onuachu, Moffi and Iheanacho can also start for Osimhen to come later if need be… Our team shouldn’t be a one-trick pony!

A quick glimpse at history would calm your nerves and put you where u ought to be. We will beat u as usual, which is nothing new to us.
