AFCON 2025Q: We’re In Uyo To Beat Super Eagles — Cheetahs Captain Mounie

Benin Republic captain Steve Mounie says the Cheetahs are battle ready for the clash with the Super Eagles.

Gernot Rohr’s side are in Uyo for the opening fixture of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against the Super Eagles.

  • It’s not your fault. Had it been SE and NFF had done the needful in June by defeating Benin, this one wouldn’t be running mouth against us.
Hopefully,SE will do the needful tomorrow by defeating Benin without hitch

This is what happens if you don’t put your house in order kę.

We want to play Benin, and it is like we want to play Brazil.

We even fear Oga Rohr who spent 5 years without winning a tangible thing for Nigeria.

NFF should be blamed for this symbolic situation of the Super Eagles.

The two things that make me forgive Eguavon is to beat Oga’s Rohr team convincingly in today’s match.

The second one is for him to select the players based on current form, and he should also have plan B in place. You can’t have plan A and fold your arms.

If he can improve on these three things, then he will be a better coach, and I have a change of mind.

But for now, I have no confidence and respect for Eguavon anymore because he has betrayed the trust I have in him.

As a good citizen, I wish Nigeria the best of luck against Benin.

Benin shouldn’t be a threat to Nigeria; no disrespect to Oga’s Rohr team. Oga Rohr and his team don’t have what it takes to beat us in Nigeria.

If they prove me wrong in today’s match then Eguavon should vacate his position today.

I am very delighted to see Oga Rohr once again. At least, 4-0 should be manageable for Eagles while 2-0 is not acceptable from our darling Super Eagles.

I know many Oga Rohr followers will be praying for Benin to win the match but sorry, it won’t happen in Uyo this time around.

Our boys have to prove that Oga Rohr is not Superb. Eagles have to show their class to Benin. Let me stop here. If our boys fail to beat Benin inside out then we have to replace them after the match against Benin.

I just want to prove to Oga Rohr and his
fans that Oga Rohr was not good enough to coach the Super Eagles. The Eagles have to beat Benin by a big margin, period. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

Egu must be begged to take SE to Afcon then if he’s successful, then the World Cup. I don’t want to hear anything about expatriate coach any more. NFF, do take note.

Mr Eguavon the best formation for Nigeria is 4 2 3 1 this will allow us to control the midfield, keep the possession of the ball. Rohr is a good tactician is expecting us to play 4 3 3 or  4 4 2,Eguavon please don’t fall our hands against Rohr.
