Fiorentina’s new signing Edin Dzeko has dismissed doubt that his age factor will affect his game at the club.
Dzeko stated this on Thursday after he was unveiled to the fans and promised to give his best to the club.
Speaking with the club’s website, the veteran striker, now 39, said that he’ll work very hard to help the club achieve a lot in the Serie A next season.
“Age doesn’t matter. It means I’m not ready to give up yet. Behind it all is the work that a 39-year-old has to do, even more than others. I’m doing it, I still feel good. Now we’re working hard because this will give us satisfaction later.

“Ambition must always be there; it’s the foundation for achieving great results. Nothing comes naturally; you have to sweat and work hard. Fiorentina have lost three finals in recent years, so you can see that the team and the club are there, and at Viola Park we have everything we need to give our all.”
“I see myself as either a centre or centre striker, further forward or further back. Great players can play together. On the pitch, you always need quality, but you also need to think about the team.
“With a lot of attacking players, you certainly score more goals, but we all need to think about the defensive phase as well.”
