Borussia Dortmund won the Revierderby against FC Schalke 04 with 3-0 on Saturday at the Signal Iduna Park. Manuel Akanji (55th), Erling Haaland (61st) and Mats Hummels (78th) got the goals.
And with the win, Dortmund defended their third place in the table, while Schalke remained 17.
Compared to the Champions League game at Lazio Rome, Borussia Dortmun coach, Lucien Favre, switched his team to five positions. The recovered Roman Burki replaced Marwin Hitz between the posts. In addition, Giovanni Reyna , Julian Brandt , Mahmoud Dahoud and Manuel Akanji started for Marco Reus , Axel Witsel , Jude Bellingham and Lukasz Piszczek . Manuel Baum traded in four positions. Malick Thiaw , Rabbi Matondo , Amine Harit, and Goncalo Pacienciacame new to the team, Steven Skrzybski , Can Bozdogan , Benito Raman and Vedad Ibisevic initially sat on the bench.
The BVB began dominant and had 11 minutes three shots on goal in the shortest time, but really dangerous it was (blocked) in the financial statements of Dahoud, Sancho (about it) and not Haaland (Ronnow holds). That changed when Haaland Meunier served in the penalty area. The Belgian failed with a kick from the left pentagon to Ronnow. After the change, the picture remained unchanged: Dortmund controlled the game, but it wasn’t really dangerous. That only changed in the 55th minute. Dortmund took a corner briefly and via Sancho and Brandt Guerreiro came to the conclusion at the right sixteen corner. Ronnow was just able to parry the Portuguese’s tight left-footed shot, but Manuel Akanji poked the ball over the line from close range in a center-forward style. That broke the spell.
Erling Haaland was then a little on the spot. The Norwegian lifted the ball after a great pass from Jadon Sancho ice cold over Ronnow into the goal. For the Norwegian it was the 18th goal in the 20th Bundesliga game. Only Uwe Seeler started with a better rate in history.
After a precise corner from Raphael Guerreiro , Mats Hummels then made the final decision with a powerful header. In the final phase, BVB managed the result without any problems and also brought that to zero over time.

Raphael Guerreiro was strong 145 times on the ball against Schalke and thus almost 3 times as often as the busiest Schalke (53). The bustling Portuguese was involved in six of the 17 BVB shots on goal (three given, three submitted), initiated the goal to make it 1-0 with a shot on goal and put Mats Hummels in 3-0 with a corner kick.
