Anthony Joshua was involved in a road traffic accident on the Lagos–Ibadan expressway at Makun, Ogun State on Monday.
The vehicle conveying the boxer collided with another car under circumstances that remain unclear, according to the punch.
Two persons were confirmed dead at the scene, while Joshua reportedly sustained minor injuries and received immediate attention from rescuers.
Emergency team worked quickly to evacuate the injured. The identities of the deceased have not yet been released.

Traffic officials and local police have cordoned off the crash site as investigations into the cause of the collision continue.
Officers from the Federal Road Safety Corps and the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency were said to be on the scene.
