The Elegbata Sports Complex in Lagos was agog with music and entertaining football over the weekend when team Bluebloods took on team Kingmakers as Nigeria’s most enterprising bookmaker BetKing, celebrated its second year anniversary with a family novelty match.
Team Bluebloods consisting of staff of BetKing was a statement to the ideology of the brand that its commitment to royalty and loyalty was unquestionable, this ideology was also demonstrated in the name of the opposing team, Kingmakers comprising of Agents who are partners with the brand in enthroning Kings in the land.
The occasion was graced by the King himself ex-Nigerian international Austin JJ Okocha who was at hand to get the ball rolling at kick-off. The Nigerian Superstar has been the brand ambassador for BetKing from its launch back in 2018. He took to his social media page to congratulate the brand for a job well done in such a short period of time in the Nigerian market.
The first half of the match ended in a goalless draw after some beautiful and hilarious display of skills from both teams. However, Orji scored late in the second half of the game to give team Bluebloods the lead, but the teams’ jubilation was short lived as Adinnu struck a beautiful short that ended at the back of the net in the last minute of the game to equalise for team Kingmakers. The game was decided by a penalty shootout which produced an unlikely hero in the person of Gabriel, the goalkeeper of team Bluebloods who save two of the opposing team’s shots to hand his team the trophy.
Speaking to All Sports Prediction after the match, Mr. Gossy Ukanwoke, a director in the company said, “It is amazing to be able to look back and see that we have been in business for the past two years and also been there for Nigerians as a brand providing entertainment, providing a way for people to engage in the sport that they love, like football, basketball, and other games they invest their time on. It makes us thankful to be there and to be able to provide the platform for people to engage. The industry is growing and to be there as one of the brands supporting people and rewarding them is a great feeling. Nothing describes that more than what we have here today, we have our agents and staff participating in a family match, just seeing that love between us all speaks volume for us. We are consistently creating entrepreneurs through our agent partnership and they are all business owners in their own rights. So we are proud and happy to be at the forefront of empowering people. We are also determined to keep rewarding punters and keep them happy. If Nigerians are happy, then we are happy.”
The brand’s head of product, Ruby Chukwu said, “The last two years has been about learning, in fact a lot of learning that comes not just with experience, but hearing from our customers also. We learn from our customer’s feedback and their behaviour, and that has enabled us to grow stronger. Looking to the future, the first thing we will like to do is to solidify our brand. We want to position ourselves as a brand that is valued not by just words, but by showing it. Therefore, the next few years, you will be seeing a lot of giving. Giving in the sense that we are giving more value to our employees, online customers, in-shop players, agents, super agents, communities, and even the government. We want to be valuable to all these categories of our publics and we will be taking actions that will drive this objective.”
She said punters have embraced the brand so well within these two years because of the experience they have had with the products and services of the brand which is next to nothing anywhere else. According to her, “Our punters are in for exciting times ahead. They should expect more promotions, more interesting markets, bigger odds, and exciting offers. That is all we want to do for them, and even much more.”How To Migrate To Canada Without IELTS - A must read for anyone looking for a better life abroad"....
