Black Stars Bag Qatar 2022 Ticket, Edge Super Eagles Out With Away Goal

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been eliminated from the 2022 FIFA World Cup by the Black Stars of Ghana after the second leg of their African qualifiers playoffs ended 1-1 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja on Tuesday night.

The Black Stars qualified on the away goals after the first leg in Kumasi last Friday ended goalless.

Arsenal star Thomas Partey put the Black Stars ahead before William Troost-Ekong scored from the penalty spot to make it 1-1.

It is a return to the World Cup for the Ghanaians after missing out of the 2018 edition.

The game saw coach Austine Eguavoen make some changes with Calvin Bassey, Ademola Lookman and Frank Onyeka replacing Innocent Bonke, Samuel Chukwueze and Moses Simon.

The Eagles had the first attempt on goal after a Ghanaian player almost directed his clearance over the bar for a corner.

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey put Ghana ahead in the 11th minute with a low shot which went through the grips of Francis Uzoho.

On 12 minutes Osimhen had a chance after racing on to a long pass and his shot just missed the target, but the flag went up for offside.

In the 14th minute Bassey sent in a dangerous pass which almost located Osimhen but a Ghanaian defender made a good block.

The Eagles equalized in the 22nd minute through Troost-Ekong from the penalty spot after a VAR check for a foul on Lookman.

Few minutes later, the Eagles were awarded a freekick close to the Ghanaian box for a foul on Osimhen but Lookman’s effort came off the wall.

Osimhen thought he had given the Eagles the lead on 35 minutes from a pass from the back but after a long consultation with VAR the goal was disallowed.

Five minutes before halftime Bassey won the ball in a good position but saw his cross hit a Ghanaian defender.

Before the start of the game, the Eagles made a change as Shehu Abdullahi replaced the injured Onyeka.

In the 52nd minute, a good cross from Dennis in search of Osimhen was headed away by a Ghanaian defender.

Five minutes into the second half a good corner was headed by an Eagles player which went just wide.

Osimhen almost put the Eagles ahead on 59 minutes, but his attempted bicycle kick from a deflected cross went just over the bar.

On 70 minutes, Leon Balogun met Simon’s set-piece with his head but the Ghanaian keeper made a good block.

With seven minutes left on the clock, Osimhen made another bicycle-kick attempt from a knock down from Ighalo, only to see his effort miss the target.

The Eagles continued to probe and almost scored from a corner, but a Ghanaian player cleared the ball off the line.

And a shitty sports minister. Next time before he opens his dirty mouth to speak vulgar about Ghanaians he will think. I always maintained on this platform that Nigeria is overhyped and a soft bone chicken. Those who complain that ghana is physical, between ghana and Nigeria who should be physical? Look at the size difference between the players…our dm, baba is a diminutive guy but he’s able to bully the Nigerian players. It should tell you how weak the super chicken is. I told you we will use u for pepper soup and that’s exactly what we’ve done. Next time you meet a Ghanaian, respect him. Go Ghana black star!

Before you sit down to write rubbish about the Nigerian team, you should ‘think’ deep. Your team that cannot beat tiny Comoros that disgraced you at the last Afcon and you could not win a single match now you have the got to abuse a far more better team than yours? Fine you qualified on ‘away goal rule’ and so what? Not that you beat Nigerian out rightly in open play. Wait till you get to Qatar and your ‘Yansh’ will be opened on everyside before you no say ‘Kaki no bi Leather’ …it’s not only qualifying for the fun of if but making impact that matters…
… for me Nigeria not qualifying is a blessing in disguise because of somany things that is not right with the system…

Honor Ghana. The name Black Stars alone, defeats Nigeria

Everyone with the exception of Osimhen should be sacked. Very useless team.

    • Yaw opare 2 years ago

You met a stronger team. No need to sack. You are officially the afcon group stage champions…lol

      • It was not a stronger team but Ghana had a stronger coaching team with Chris Houghton ,Addo ,Boateng

        • Yaw opare 2 years ago

Guess the coaches played on the day. What happens if you have a good plan and players can’t execute the plan? Give credit to the players. They were tactically and technically superior

    • I won’t blame any of the players.

  • The Nff board should honorably resign, the bad luck coaches should also throw in the towel.

Super chickens indeed , what a wonderful nickname

  • Usunde 2 years ago

We win some and lose some. Now the Nff should move everyone to the drawing board because no time to waste. Preparations for Afcon2023 begins in earnest. What are the arrangements to fortify the local coaches?

    • Kelvin 2 years ago

Who fortifies the expatriate coaches? If you want to be the best your business you go for the best training.our indigenous coaches should not wait for government to build them up they should do it for themselves

  • Bunch of overhype below average players, onyeka plaid and get injured, Bonke plaid and get injured,Ndidi too was injured. I hope these guys have not heavily reduced their real age.

How many Ghanian players was injured during the first and second leg?

Abeg this team and the technical crew should be scattered. Egu should never ever comes near se job again. Never ever.

    • It is the coach’s tactics. Power football is all they know.

  • Everybody must go. From the mouthy Sports Minister who does not possess the grace, attitude, or Knowledge to have anything to do with sports, to the lame, clueless coaches, to the Shabby, ill-mannered NFF President. You are all a bunch of Disgrace to Nigerian football. You all think you are bigger and more knowledgeable than everyone else. It is time for all of you to move on and leave Nigerian sports alone. I will not blame any of the players.

  • Oh dear! Back to the drawing board I guess. Perhaps less table soccer this time around.

  • The minister of sports and the NFF president have finally stopped us from going to 2022 WC.
I feel very bad about this because I saw this coming and I was very vocal, “the devil you know is better than the angel you don’t know”. Keep Rohr, don’t sack the old man. I said it here and many other forums.
But my voice was drowned by the voice of the majority who felt we have indigenous coaches who can do better than Rohr.
When I saw the coaching crew that was put together to replace Rohr and take us to AFCON, I said it clearly that this looks more like an experiment to me than serious business. Is it not better to bring the old man back than waste our AFCON qualification with this experiment? I asked but I found out the NFF wanted to please the majority, perhaps because of the rumored third term ambition.
We went to AFCON and performed woefully and dismally. I was thinking they will invite the old man back, but to my shock and surprise, everybody clapped and said we did very well. Winning Egypt is now doing well.
The sports minister and NFF president also clapped and hailed the coaching crew that failed, before adding some new coaches to the crew. I was still not convinced. I said it over and over again, that this was still looking like an experiment to me.

For one second, I never trusted or believed in Eguaveon, even before AFCON till date. I keep faulting his line up, formation, tactics, approach etc. Even today, before the match started and I saw the line up, I faulted the line up here with very compelling reasons and arguments why we may not fly with the line up. But some people said I was being pessimist.
The labour of our heroes past is now in vain. Both AFCON and WC Rohr and his boys laboured to secure has been squandered with experimentation.
The minister of sports and the NFF president should resign forthwith. If these two people are still on their seats by next week, that means they have no regard for Nigerians

Write this date down or save this my comment bcos I’ll bring this comment back in March 30th after Ghana must have added to our woes and sorrows.

It will take more than a miracle for SE to qualify for the WC in Qatar ahead of Ghana.

I’m not bewitching our boys but the truth must be told bcos something most kill a man.

I was expecting Malawi or S.Leone to be our next opponent in round 16 for our boys to have an easy ride which many in this forum can bear me witness. Time without number I was always asking for prayers to avoid Tunisia bcuz I saw a great doom awaiting us but some fellows that were carried away with those cheap success never listened.
They were like “bring on any team and our boys will tear them apart”.
We can now see the outcome, we’re now enjoying it.

I actually expected our boys to get an easy draw by facing either Mali or DR CONGO, but something must kill a man, boom our long time rival in Ghana.

I see Nigeria being eliminated by Ghana with either away goal rule or head-to-head rule.

Register this in your dairy bcos I’ll definitely remind this forum on March 30th, 2022.

It will take “MORE THAN A MIRACLE” for Nigeria to reach Qatar 2022.

@Dr.Drey… We concede to your team. So can the unprovoked insults stop from today?

Most of us were carried away by emotions with labored results that we started getting under Rohr. But this team has been suspect for a long time.

Our home records in the last 5games have been abysmal. Most of our players are really overhyped and honestly, we were not fair to players like Nwakaeme, Dessers, Awoniyi and Olayinka. But again, it’s because people retire and come back like Ighalo or some just refuse to retire like Ahmed Musa. Let’s see how he adds his caps now…

Your home records were abysmal, what about your away records….LMAOoooo….oh sorry, we werent playing home and away back then….LMAOOooo

Even idiots could see Rohr was constantly being sabotaged at home every time we played just to make him fail and be done with. But once away from home where they hawks cannot reach, we pull wins when we needed wins and draws when a draw was the ideal result.

You guys dont know the damage you have done to Nigerian football at the moment, until our players can no longer sign for big clubs anymore.

But trust the hungry jobless overrated crew, especially the so-called 94 set.

      I warned all of them.

After relegating 3 NPFL clubs and a disastrous AFCON and WC failure, let me see the club that will employ all these 9-olodos as coaches……LMAOooo

Yobo’s coaching career is dead on arrival….I warned him too when they were serenading him and decieving him 100 caps is a pre-qualification for coaching the national team….Desperation and greed to reap where they did not sow kill all of them……LMAOooo….he should just return to his fashion business…..LMAOoooo

  • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

I am seriously looking forward to hearing from CSN’s team of part-time weekly staff of hungry jobless exinternationals (Dosu, Akpoborie, Finidi (before he finally got a job and resigned from CSN), Okparaku etc) who anchored the media arm of sabotaging Rohr out of the job…..LMAOOo

I will take my time to pen a special thank you letter to all of them. Each and everyone of all those ungrateful bunch who joined their greed, hatred and racist wickeness together to take our football back to 1982 now.

  • Do you think the Nigerian players are worried that they’re not going to the World Cup in Qatar? They’re not worried one bit. Don’t you think they know that some people will make piles of money from their qualifying? They know! Their clubs will even be happy that they’re intact, injury free. This is the results of corruption. We have goalkeepers problem, but the issue here is that these boys are not ambiguous enough to win a match of this importance. Ghana was there for the picking. No style. Just kick forward and let the attackers run and run. Dennis, Lookmam and these guys are not used to this kick and run style. Football nowadays us not about chances but you deliberately build by stringing passes together, the goal keeper to his defenders to the midfield and then the attackers. That’s what good coaches try to tell their players which Eguavoen Austin didn’t do before coming to the field.
When it was 1-1, that was when the intensity would have been at top gear but it seems nobody remembered that we were losing the match. Aina will waste precious time looking for someone to throw to. Instead of propelling forward, they were pass back back. Move forward. This was a match we would have won even in the first half. Football nowadays is won by calculation, not by chance of kick and follow. We need a modern minded, attack minded coach. Coach should go. NFF chairman should go.

  • @selfmade congratulations there is nothing left other than to support Ghana and every other African players.

We had our world cup already in our hands until rohr was sacked and our own was installed and right from the point he took charge, everything started falling apart. From an embarrassing round of sixteen exit to the painful loss of the world cup ticket to a very weak ghanian side. Rohr would’ve at lest gotten a goal point in Ghana and would have made the return leg an easy cautious ride but our own threw everything into the wind. Pinick, the. Sports minister and Mr eguavon should be relieved of their duties asap. I hope Mr odegbami would feel happy wherever he is now bcs he said it would be better to sink with our own. So said jimmyball and his group. Arios amigos, we’ll wait for the next for years to think of another world cup. We sounded the alarm here when they were scheming against rohr but nobody listened. There u have it!!!!

I mean a team that couldn’t create any decent chance and couldn’t muster more than 3 shots at goal in 180 minutes of football….???

      Nonsense…!!!

I am not bluffing…..over 2 legs Rohr would have given us this ticket without heart attacks.

Oh Lord, please help me make it past these next 24 hours

It is a fact. 100 percent fact. Imagine sacking a coach that made qualifying for tournies including world cups look ordinary and easy. Now, we are back to those days of struggling to qualify for tournies. Very soon, what we saw as ordinary during rohr’s time would be given as targets to any coach these thieves would employ. Clueless bunch of idiots!!!! Idiots!!! All of you deserve to face a firing squad. I told u guys that very soon, nemesis will come hunting for you guys and it is already happening and shall continue to happen until u aplogise to rohr openly and call him back to finish the work he started.

Through out Rohr’s tenure as the coach of ‘Super Eagles’ Nigeria had most TIMES, QUALIFIED for tournaments, with a game to spare. Pinnick and HIS NFF maliciously sacked a man who met all conditions given to him by the same corrupt and clueless NFF. I hope that those haters of Rohr and advocate of his sack at the wrong time, have now seen the difference between him (a man who met all the stringent conditions given to him the same evil NFF) and the local CHAMPIONS, who could not build on Rohr’s hardwork and achievements;A clueless coach and crew that couldn’t complete an already finished job. Eguavoen and his crew have finished themselves, but my worry is that, they have subjected Nigerians to a tormenting emotional agony, that will take a long time to heal.

Rohr was frustrated from within, salary was not paid yet still continue the Job.

    • I can’t blame coach Eguavoen for todays game. Ghana didn’t play any better than SE. Check all the statistics for the game: Possession, SE 63% to BS 37%; Shots on goal and on Target 6-2 to Ghana’s 2-1; Corner kicks, SE 6 to Ghana’s 2; even Pass accuracy %age SE was far better than Black stars.
Ghana came to play for a draw and combatively stop Nigerian strikers by throwing their bodies on the line and kicking SE players all over the place. They got 4 yellow cards and committed 33 fouls because they were very determined and focused on stopping Nigeria through hook or crook.
The only blame I have for the SE players is that they were too soft, perhaps because some of them born in Europe don’t understand the physicality of African football and derbies between Nigeria and Ghana.
The game after all were still a draw after both legs!

@Dr Drey , would you please live up to your name and what you claim to be in real life , supposed erudite and highly expose in the western world for that matter ( why would continue to insult @ JimmyBall’s family ? ) just because of your frustration over the clueless Rohr who ended up destroying our soccer DNA , given us these set of bunch of embarrassing goalkeepers ( one shot at goal , one score ?)

Tell me any of Rohr’s regulars that was dropped in the two games except Iwobi that was not qualified to play in this game simply because the best he could do was to walk straight into red card ?

What of the Sunday-Sunday footballer Igahalo that Rohr’s local version Eguafon also clamoured for just as Oga Rohr ( what has he payed in his last game with Rohr and this last game ? ) didn’t I said severally that Igahalo was not invited for football reason but the money he bring to help the unpaid coaches ( what has he paid when he eventually enter ,? Even Musa as bad as he was and much maligned by Nigerian fans , he made better impact than the Sunday- Sunday football Igahalo . when voiced out against him , and also said it severely that Rohr could not produce just one average goalkeeper ( have we not been justified with the shambolic performances of the two goalkeepers that messed up the entire team efforts ?)

Lastly; your Oga Rohr , please after his dismissal just as he was summarily sacked in his last 3 countries with a shameful records that only a super corrupt as our own NFF lead by Fraud-Pinnick would have allowed him near the bench of their female football team let alone their main team ( who is that corrupt and fool nation as ours that gives Oga Rohr Job in Africa ? As I know his home country wouldn’t have allowed him near their U17 team as assistant coach let alone U20 team as a coach )

Please, grow up , we are here to exchange notes, interact with one another, not abusing ourselves and family members; as a highly educated you always claim, please let it reflect in your act here.

But for corruption would your Rohr have lasted more than 2 years ? let alone almost 6 years of waste ( No one single average goalkeeper and the senseless bringing the likes of John Noble and Sunday-Sunday Saudi footballer Igahalo for corruption reason )

There is no differences between PDP and APC of both Oga Rohr & his upgraded local version Eguafon ( the sacking of Rohr was done by NFF as smart game to save their lives and Rohr because having seen Rohr labour to drew 1-1 with lowly Cape Verde with hypertensive situation before we could manage to get to this stage ( didn’t Cape Verde coach predicted that with shambolic performance of Rohr team who were lucky to draw 1-1 with his 120 plus fifa rated team , would not qualified for WC ?)

The current NFF are our common enemy that you should vent your frustration on , please don’t loose it , we are here to enjoy interacting with ourselves and matured guys and not uncultured that cannot interact in a civilized forum as this

I guess it was your father that manned the post for us from 2016 to 2022 when we executed 4 qualifications with resounding success and flying colors and finished on the podium at AFCON in our 1st attempt in 6 years.

Oga Rohr was sacked from 3 countries….FAT LIES….LMAOoooo…. He was only sacked by burkinafaso only. Rohr led both Gabon and Niger to their best AFCON performances till date and left after delivering on his assignment.

Please where were your 9man consortium of fools sacked from…??? LMAOooooo. Euavoen relegated 3 NPFL clubs, Amuneke demoted to academy coach, Aigbogun zero, Egoaje Zero, Yobo minus 50….LMAOooo. Let them go and apply for jobs in the 3 countries Rohr coached and see if they will make a 50 man shortlist talk more of getting the job…..LMAOooooo

Once again, accursed be you and your seeds forever.

      Look at this filthy liar…..LMAOooo

Your lies, gang-up, exchange of notes and interactions with one another, where has it landed us now….?? Answer me….? Where has it landed us……???

Go and delete my name from the graduation roll of all the universities I have attended na, If it pains you so much that Im serving all of you and your conclave of evil minded bastards the medicine y’all deserve

Rohr this Rohr that lmaoo!!!!! Man is yet to get another team uptil now

Musa and Ighalo you must go to Qatar!! Do not retire

  • Rohr has been vindicated, the people that warned against his sack including myself has been vindicated. The “let us fail with our own” has indeed failed woefully.

Mr Odegbami, Jimmyball, Omo9ja et AL, I hope you are done failing with your own now?

    • KENNETH 2 years ago

Please tell me how rorh was vindicated. Are this not some of the players he brought to us so tell us the vindication. Last time I checked he was here for 6 years and never won the ultimate goal. So am waiting for the vindication you all are screaming about. He should have gotten a job by now.

    • Chinenye 2 years ago

Lmao! Vindication my foot!! Your Rohr is worse than Eguavon. Atleast he listens that’s you see fit players in the starting line up eventhough he’s still Nff’s puppet but Rohr? Don’t even go there… it was good he left with his “cut and join” football

  • ABDULRAZAK 2 years ago

For months Segun Odegbami and his co propagandists waged a war of attrition against Gernot Rohr. Their BIG LIE was that he wasn’t even a coach but a quack and a fruad. The propaganda was intense and in propaganda, THE TRUTH IS THE LIE YOU HEAR OFTEN. Soon, people including many on this forum began to believe the BIG LIE. When rumours of Rohr’s intending sack began to circulate, the few sane minds on this forum appealed for calm, citing the man’s modest achievements but they were called unprintable names and pooh poohed on. Eventually, the Angels of darkness won and Rohr was axed. To those who called and screamed on this forum for Rohr’s sack. Hope you are enjoying with great satisfaction, results of your wish. Let the inquisition and blame game begin. Hehehehehehe.

I just googled AMAJU PINNICK, and the first line coming up is FORMER PRESIDENT OF NFF.
Yet, when you scroll down, no news to back it up.
Wetin dey sup? I hope he resigned. He can’t be fired. I hope someone has not fired him, as that will attract FIFA’s wrath, and finally put the nail in our football coffin.
Pinnick can not be sacked. He may resign himself. If not, he and his crew need to voted out of office.

  • Emecco 2 years ago

@ Dr Drey, this failure is paining all of us, not only you ,please stop taking it personal, we all wanted Eagles.to win just like you, everyone’ imput is their own way if contributing to the success of the team,The people that suggested Rohrs sack felt it was the best tthing for us, that decision has backfired, we all suffer it together, it pains me to my marrows that we won’t be in Qatar, that Ghanaian team is not better than SE, they were only fortunate. Uzoho just like Okoye in the last Afcon has greatly contributed in our failure to progress. I didn’t see any coaching superiority Otto Addo has over Eguavoen, Osimhen has several chances to score, If he has timed his run on that VAR cancelled goal better, we would have been in Qater, no one could have said Eguavoen is incompetent.

    • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

You guys should stop blaming these goalkeepers….leave them alone. There is little a GK can do about sweving shots. These same goalkeepers were the one Rohr used to execute 4 Qualifiers and 1 AFCON tournament with modest success.

What you should ask is how many goals did we concede from these kinds of long range shots in the last 6 years…? How many…??? The we now concede 2 in 3 games…?

All of a sudden our opponents now have all the time and space to take accurate shots at our goal from long range.

And then we blame the innocent children for conceding from shots that change direction midair…?

      That’s NONSENSE.

Rohr always played double pivot and your riffraffs called in a defensive minded coach…..LMAOooo…Ngwa see attack minded coach wey dey play 5-0-5 formation na….LMAOOooo

ALL OF YOU WHO PUT US IN THIS MESS, MAY GOD REWARD YOU ALL ACCORDINGLY.

Just finnished watching the Cameroon game..They played to the death of it and did not stop till they scored on literal the 4th minute of the 4 minutes added time….Our players did not play with any sense of urgency like they wanted it….Cameroon beat Algeria away something most people didn’t expect. The Algerians are now on a decline..

  • footballfanatic 2 years ago

This WC ticket loss hurts to the bone marrow. The NFF can just do us an immediate favor and fire the whole technical crew asap as there are no games for now and in the coming weeks….That will alleviate the pain….This is the same kind of pain felt in 2006 when we lost the ticket to Angola it hurt most when the WC started and then u realize ur team isn’t there…

  • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

Rohr single handedly kept our football running for YEARS. When all other national teams where failing, Rohr made the SE the only thing Pinnick and the entire NFF can hold on to.

Instead, they sabotaged the poor man….Stripped him of all his assistants…..withheld his salaries for 8 months despite the fact that the man paying his 5 personal assistants from his pocket…..withheld players bonuses for 2 SOLID YEARS….played home matches on pitches even the players voiced concerns about until CAF had to humiliate us by expressly banning one of our home grounds for being a field of weeds……foisted someone who wasnt a coach on Rohr (under the guised of 100 caps is good enough a qualification to coach) as agent of destabilization and that one too did not fail in carrying out the bidding of his masters….LMAOoo.

They did all within their powers to force him to fail and he still didnt

Pinnick Owes Rohr his longevity as a NFF president. And this is God’s way of showing Nigerians that betrayal doesnt pay.

And its not even the 1st time this is happening to us, Y’all are just too foolish to learn from history. Let this man finish his assignment and leave in peace…..mbanu……y’all prefered your barrabas to the christ…..LMAOooo…Ngwa enjoy your Barrabas o fellow Nigerians….LMAOooo

    I warned you all….!!!

    • KENNETH 2 years ago

Oga abeg go and sleep, what warning are you screaming about. Was he the first coach that his salary would be withheld. Because for 6 years that we had me, after enyeama was kicked out. Tell us the descent keeper we have had since then. Even the oyinbo one he had faith in was calamity. And the next option wasn’t playing in a top 5 league. Your Rorh should gotten a job by now. Since he was that good. Until he gets another job with a quality football country. Then I accept he is good

      • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

look at this lapdog, better go and console your master jimmylie as usual since you have nothing sensible to say from your smelly mouth. He’s looking for a soft touch to console him at the moment.

You useless fool. It was your father that was keeping goal for Nigeria when we prosecuted 4 qualifiers and 1 AFCON successfully in the 6 years under Rohr….LMAOOooo.

Which job/ country were you 9 stupid fools coaching before they were given SE to coach…??? Till they will die none of them will coach 4 countries like Rohr….LMAOoo

A dead Rohr is better than all our current local coaches put together.

Rohr is not desperate for a job yet. NFF are still paying him his salaries (Free $45,000 per month) till December when his contract was supposed to end for sacking him….thanks to the foolish noise you and the liars you have as your masters were making in December last year….LMAOoooo.

Shebi you Eguavoen is a guadiola……Ngwa enjoy him and his failure na….LMAOoo

    What a country….what a people….!!!

  • Drey na one of the people I like to read from but ONLY when he no de reduce himself to insults left, right and middle. Some of the insults de triggering and you no agree with somebody no mean say you go curse, insult and undress the person with words. I beg we can do better.

Mr Man, Let me reduce myself to insults. Leave me to reduce myself to whatever level I want. Since birds have learnt to fly without perching, hunters will also learn to shoot without missing. Ive stomached lots of insults from useless children on this forum and my creator forbids me that I wouldnt give it back to them all.

People who know next to nothing will come here spewing trash, shoving us lies and trying to shave our heads while we are asleep and expect me to keep quiet because they think madness is an exclusive preserve of their generation or their level….? I fear no foe, I will show any of them that before corn was created, the fowl never went to bed hungry.

I’ve stomached lost of disrespect, false accusations, pejury, name it all from these nitwits. At least with recent happenings……people will know whom they should listen to more, between knowledgeable, analytical, facts and figures based submissions and Charlatans who are only desperate for validation and seeking to belong without having anything to offer.

    • Bros is not only drey that’s pained ooo,I voiced same opinion about sacking rohr,I said let him finish his journey to Qatar before we relieved him nigerians led by odegbami on that useless parliament show they ran made it a task to sack rohr..Bros I tell u I followed eagles like kilode to since 94 world cup qualifications even to papendal in Holland cos I loved them die,I used to watched eagles trained at surulere n ota backed then n it pained me so much that d day we sacked rohr I disown d team cos it’s d greatest mistake we ever made in 2021..as for me to will surely look for odegbami on that show n let him have a piece of my anger..I said it here n to my guys that cerezo was lucky against Egypt cos it’s our first match, playing just 2 central midfielders..it’s never done in modern football n up until today he still repeat same mistake…like drey said no team has taken time n space to shoot under rohr from middle yet under cerezo Tunisia did n Ghana did it in a space of 3 matches n u call that guy a coach..lol…well today never pain me as d day rohr was sacked that week I got BP n and was swearing for pinnick n co..now u all see y….omo9ja may hbp kill u there were of d highest level…

Rohr’s cut and join and boring football qualifies us for tournaments with ease. Expressive and wing play without purpose football knocked us out of the AFCON in the round of 16 and now couldn’t qualify us for the WorldCup. Lmao!!

I was ok with Rohr moving on, but I thought we could do better with another sound coach. Eguavoen was stuck in fantasy. We lost the ticket in Kumasi. Nigeria truly deserves not to be at the WorldCup with our bone head decisions before the AFCON. If it ain’t broken why fix it?? Now we have to start all over again.

  • DeSTAR 2 years ago

@Dr Drey ; you better don’t kill yourself for Rohr’s failed project who was sacked by his corrupt business partner having realized delaying his sack after Afcon would not bring money into their pocket .

You don’t want to tell me that Rohr that has never won a tea cup in his entire methuselah coaching career, not even U15 local cup , that cannot that was bundled out of WC con the first round with great players like Mikel , Musa , Victor Moses & co , that was tutored by Algerian local coach Belmadi in Afcon semifinals, and tutored him again 3 years later , a Coach who could not win a single match in a year , Rohr whose goalkeeper conceded 4 goals after going up 4 goals home against a team that has never for once qualified for Afcon semifinal let alone WC, Rohr whose best SE could do in his last game here at home against a team that has never qualified for Afcon semifinals, let alone WC ; would now suddenly won Afcon?

You don’t want to tell me a coach that can only produced these set of goalkeepers that are adjudged the worst in the history of SE , in his almost 6 years directionless Journey is a coach ?

Our team , even though not great but lost due to the usual shambolic performance of the average goalkeepers Rohr could produce over half decade ?

Rohr employment was fraudulent; his business partner knew quite right , he cannot take eagle to any where but for corruption

You claimed Rohr was only sacked in one country? What a joke !! a coach that resigned in shame or whose contract was not renewed having failed woefully; was that not dismissed

Oga Rohr’s last 3 shameful records in his last 3 countries before fraudulently packed by his business partner NFF were as shamefully poor as low as 27% and 13% ( if we are not having super corrupt fraudulent as Pinick that destroyed Nigerian footballs ; could we have settled for an Aba local club reject as declared by Oji kalu ? , Rohr that Bukinafaso , Benin booted out of not having competency of handling their team )

I repeat , just as I said which was on record, that Eguafon is an upgraded local version of Oga Rohr , as they have a lot in common……
Same set of average goalkeepers, same recalled of Sunday- Sunday games footballer Igahalo who was complete total flop to both Rohr & Eguafon ; both Coaches are sombie to NFF, forcing unmerited players on them etc ( Eguafon could have performed better even if he is paid 20% of money wasted on Rohr )

As for attacking my father just as you did to @JummyBall ; you are a kid , and I refuse to stoop low to your uncultured deficiencies; it clearly shows what one could have imagined a father that failed to teach his ward how to comport himself in an interactive platform as ours … it may not be your father’s failure either but your way of life

If in deed , you are what you claim to be in real life , you should be ashamed that you have really missed it if you compare the way you attack members fathers, family here ( did you see anyone going miserably to your level ? as to attack , insult abuse one’s father ?)

    Please, we are here to exchange notes , idea and interact freely, not a platform for the kids : if you cannot mange your frustration, if you don’t know how to comport yourself, please go and learn ;

As at now , tell me who is that corrupt football federations that is gullible to engage Rohr , even when Ghana Coach was sacked in January; there was no sentiment of sacking a coach that qualified them for both afcon and WC qualifying stage ( so why would you have to kill yourself over a coach that had nothing to offer as the longest serving Coach in the history of Nigeria football ).

    • Ayphillydegreat 2 years ago

You’re just ranting Rohr has nothing to do with a Round of 16 exit at the AFCON and a failure to qualify for this year’s WorldCup. Which goalkeeper did Westerhoff discover during his successful tenure?? Rufai, Agbonivbare, Aloy and Shorumu/Ngodiga and co have all been playing in CAF competitions before Westerhoff came.

Rohr realized the shortcomings of our team and deployed a back 3 to make us impregnable. Your own came he told them to go out there and express themselves. When it is glaring that we can easily get carried away at any moment in an important match.

Which sane coach make 5 changes to a starting lineup that battled for a draw in Kumasi. We all saw how creative Aribo is Lmao!! How can you bench Simon and Iheanacho in a very important match against our perennial rivals?? Na Ogun go kill everyone involved in taking our football back to 1982.

  • DeSTAR 2 years ago

@Ayphillydegrate ; I did not put failure on Rohr even though it was this foundation he could laid in his over a decade fruitless journey on the job , given us these set of kindergarten error prone goalkeepers (the goal against Rohr’s/ Eguafon’s goalkeeper , I am sure you know it couldn’t have beaten Super falcon goalkeeper) ; if those are the set plus John Noble of this world that Rohr can give us over a half decade plus ; why should we continue to cry over his sack ?

There is no differences between PDP of Rohr and APC’s of Eguafon.

Ghana sacked the coach that qualified its team for both WC qualified stage & Afcon; yet was sacked almost a month after the sack of Rohr and choose to employ their best local Coach and they get a deserved result ( what did Ghana did right that we did wrong ? Ghana threw away quack foreign coaches and picked their best local Coach in Addo , but we did not only go for our own average Local Coach in Eguafon who was rated as the best performing Coach in Afcon group stage but we refuse to pay him , not even on paper 20% of what was wasted on Rohr , yet we expected him not to compromised as Rohr also did in his last stage in charge, where qualifying against Cape Verde was nervously done with same goalkeeper kindergarten error 1-1 draw.

We were at the verge of being eliminated for WC where we needed outright winning and 4 goals; same Foreign Coach Bonfere Joo was sacked at eve of WC qualifying games, and the engaged local Coach late Shuaibu lived up to the expectations ( the differences is , just as Ghana went for his best local coach, we went for our best Local Coach then in Shuaibu ; unlike the current case of Eguafon that was direct opposite )

Much as we can blame Eguafon, he only lost a match which was in Afcon after winning 3 games but got eliminated due to ill luck drew on two legs sharing same point as Ghana, and was messed up by his goalkeeper, conceding lowly direct shot that cannot beat Super falcon’s goalkeeper let alone U17 keeper and had our goal disqualified, coupled with a fantastic performance from their goalkeeper .

Ghana was lucky to have qualified because we played better , but Ghana goalie proved the differences and mother luck.

As for Westerhof not discovering goalkeeper while in Nigeria; I beg to disagree with you ; One , there is this parlance of our people “ when it is spoil , you don’t fix ( why would he have to bothered with a department that was solid with Rufai being the best ?) .

Even at a time Westerhof demoted Rufai never called him to SE for long, just because he wanted to maintain discipline in his team , with Rufai only offence then was walking majestically to the team training ground ( and of course that is walking style of Dodo Mayana a royal prince from Lagos crown king) . Westerhof being a listen Coach that want the best for his team , recalled Rufai who was one of our unequal goalkeepers hero of the past .

Westerhof was a dynamic Coach ; there were no department that needed to be fixed that he failed ; he never settled for mediocre players or a retired Sunday-Sunday football player as Rohr & and his upgraded local version Eguafon would do.

In the Midfield Ekpo and Mutiu Adepoju were our creative players, Westerhof tinkered with that department until he got perfectionist in the youngster JJ Okocha ; free kick specialist, aerial head attacking specialist, he had it in Mutiu- Head master , rugged attacking ball carrier ; he had in 18 years old Amockachi ; in the defence , he brought in a Libero Chidi Nwanu that displaced team captain Late Keshi ; N0 11 and 7 Wingers he had in both youngster Amunike & Finidi George , defensive midfielder and great passer of ball he had it in Oliseh and the goal father late Yekini just as we have in Osimeh, not also forgetting alternative cum supporting striker and great finisher of ball – Siasia

Westerhof in his 5 years reign had a team that could have passed as ideal team ; too hot to handle , using combo of wing play and midfield play ; his SE team will hurt its opponents from both midfield play and wing play.

That was a visionary Coach that came to develop our football, not given in into any form of sentiment not pressure from NFF to invite unmerited player ( so don’t let us bring Westerhof comparison into our argument; it is insulting comparing a visionary Coach Westerhof to an average Coach like Rohr who had no idea)
