Former president of the Nigeria Football Federation , NFF, Amaju Pinnick has been appointed special adviser to Confederation of African Football, CAF, president Patrice Motsepe.
Pinnick’s appointment was confirmed by the CAF’s executive committee on Saturday.
Motsepe also announced that the 54-year-old will now start attending CAF’s executive committee by virtue of his new position.
Pinnick lost his seat in the Federation of International Football Association, FIFA, this year.

He played a crucial role in Motsepe’s election as CAF president in March 2021.
Pinnick was elected president of the NFF on September, 30, 2014, and was reelected for another four-year term on September, 20 2018.
He was the third Nigerian to serve in the FIFA council after Oyo Orok Oyo, and Amos Adamu.
His new position is a clear appreciation of his contributions to the development of football in Africa.
