Kwara United Football Club on Wednesday in Ilorin unveiled no fewer than 16 new players ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, with the primary objective of challenging for the league and Federation Cup titles, Completesports.com reports.
The Harmony Boys also renewed the contracts of 14 players who featured for the club last season.
Kwara United Strengthen Squad with 16 New Signings
Kumbi Titiloye, Executive Chairman of the club’s Management Committee, revealed during the unveiling at the club’s secretariat in Ilorin that the new arrivals were carefully selected to strengthen the squad following the departure of several players whose contracts expired at the end of last season.
The Kwara United boss disclosed that the departing players either completed their contracts or opted to pursue opportunities elsewhere.

“Our objective this coming season is to finish at the top of the league and win every available trophy,” Kumbi said.
“We want to win the NPFL title and reclaim the President Federation Cup,” he declared.
Kwara United Set Sights on NPFL and Federation Cup Glory
He assured the club’s supporters and stakeholders that the shortcomings of last season had been addressed, stressing that the team would approach every match with maximum determination.
“We are treating every game like a World Cup final. The mistakes of last season will not be repeated,” he said, while commending the Kwara State Government under Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the Kwara State Sports Commission for their unwavering support and investment in the club.
New Arrivals and Retained Players At Kwara United
The Kwara United new signings include;
Goalkeepers: Stanley Victor (from Kada City) and Ouattara Khalifa (from Alemas FC, Mali).
Defenders: Ferinyaro Ali (Kada City), Peace Dewan (Bendel Insurance), Ada Adamu (Barau FC) and Uche Daniel (Yobe Desert Stars).

Midfielders: Anthony Nnamdi (Bendel Insurance) and Emmanuel Ekpeyong (ASEAMI FC), as well as strikers Obed Ponkap (Barau FC), Ajibola Ayomade (Ikorodu City), Solomon Shoola (Abraysports), Benjamin Jack (Nasarawa United), Sanni Mohammed (ACAS FA), Thomas Omokhafe (Kada City), Jerry Alex (Rangers) and Gideon Chukwu Stephen (Doma United).
Players Retained Ahead of 2026/27 Campaign
The 14 players whose contracts were renewed by the club include goalkeeper Ayeleso Suraj, Mohammed Alao, Alegbe Muhammed, Kolawole Sheriff, Adeshina Issa Gata, Jeremiah Gabriel Abutu, Okoloko Otega, Ezenabo Somtochwuku, Toyeeb Gidado, Abdulsalam Abdulsalam, Ozoh Philip, Nurudeen Badmus, Nyebe Moses and Issa Magaji.
