Championship: Success On Target As Watford Sign Off Season With A Win Against Swansea

Isaac Success scored his first goal of the season in Watford’s 2-0 home win against Swansea City at the Vicarage Road on Saturday.

Andre Gray put the Hornets in front in the 56th minute-getting on the end of a deep cross to the far right stick from Ken Sema to bundle home from close range.

Success then drilled home in stunning fashion three minutes from time to clinch victory for the hosts.

It was a befitting end to the season for the Nigerian forward who only returned to action towards the end of the campaign following a lengthy injury layoff.

The former Granada striker featured in 10 Sky Best Championship games for Xisco Munoz’s side with just one goal to his name.

William Troost-Ekong was an unused substitute for Watford in the game.

    Dry bones shall rise again.

    • Yes o! Aphylidegrate and I never gave up on Isaac Success. I remember when Iheanacho was going through his toughest ordeal, I kept faith in him and am over the moon with what he is doing for himself.

I hope and pray Isaac Success can borrow a leaf from Iheanacho’s book entitled ‘Never Give Up, Never Quit’.

  • Wow! Isaac success finally gets his first goal of the season. He has had a rough couple of years, lost form, got injured, lost his way when he couldn’t handle the ‘success’ that came his way. I watched one of the games he played when he returned from injury recently. I wasn’t impressed. The power, speed, ruggedness and determination that usually defined the success of the past was no longer there. He was even missing clear chances to score. Fortunately he has a coach that still believed in him and gave him chance upon chance to get back to form. Hopefully, he will build on this goal. I hope that with watford’s promotion he won’t be sent out on loan to another lowly club. I hope he can work himself back to reckoning and show his coach that he deserves to be with the team as they navigate through the premiership next season. Only when he has re-established himself at club level can he even think of a return to the National team. The journey starts now!
