Cokanasiga And Shields Called Up By England

Joe Cokanasiga and Brad Shields have been called up to England’s 25-man squad for the Six Nations clash with France on Sunday.

Cokanasiga was forced to sit out the win over Ireland in Dublin with a knee injury, but has recovered from the problem and could now be handed his Six Nations debut by coach Eddie Jones, while Shields has also recovered from injury.

Jones will name his starting XV on Friday, but there will be at least three changes to the matchday 23 after Ellis Genge and Harry Williams were left out, while Maro Itoje has been ruled out of at least the next two games with a knee injury.

Jones has opted to go with Ben Moon as a replacement for Genge at loosehead, after he impressed in the autumn internationals, while Leicester veteran Dan Cole replaces Williams at tighthead.

Moon and Cole are known for their quality in the scrum, which is looks to be the reasoning behind Jones’ decision as they prepare to take on France.
