Complete Sports, Nigeria’s foremost daily sports newspaper is marking a landmark Silver Jubilee today, Friday December 18 2020 as it’s exactly on this day, 25 Years ago, that the very first edition was published.
It can be recalled that the Nigerian sports fraternity woke up on Monday, December 18 1995 , to the awesome reality of picking up the ‘Volume One, Number One’ issue of Complete Sports daily newspaper from their vendors (pictured above).
For the sports-loving Nigerians, it was another promise duly redeemed by the country’s pioneer sports publishing group – Complete Communications Limited (CCL), following the previous successes of a weekly sports newspaper, Sports Souvenir, and a monthly magazine, Complete Football.

On the 25th anniversary of Complete Sports, the publishers, CCL, acknowledges that after God – the undisputed catalyst of the company’s successes, the readers of both the daily newspaper and its online version, Completesports.com, have been loyal enough.
The Executive Chairman of CCL, Pastor (Dr.) Emmanuel Sunny Ojeagbase, is very thankful to the teeming readers of Completesports, Completesports.com and the company’s other titles over the years.
“Firstly, we give glory to God for the success of being in business with Complete Sports daily newspaper for 25 years,” he said.
