Sky Bet Championship clubs Birmingham City and Derby County have joined the race to sign FC Basel winger Philip Otele, reports Completesports.com.
According to transferfeed, Derby County have already opened talks with the Swiss Super League champions over a potential deal for the Nigerian.
The Championship duo will, however, face stiff competition from Serie A clubs Lecce and Frosinone, who are also monitoring the 27-year-old’s situation.

Otele spent the second half of last season on loan at Bundesliga side Hamburg but struggled to make a significant impact, scoring just once in nine league appearances.
Hamburg opted not to trigger a permanent transfer following the expiration of his loan spell.
FC Basel are now willing to sanction the winger’s departure and are expected to demand a transfer fee of around €5 million.
