EPL: Aribo Subbed On As Newcastle United Thrash Southampton

Super Eagles midfielder, Joe Aribo was in action as Newcastle United defeated Southampton 4-1 in Sunday’s Premier League game.

The Nigerian international who was making his 13 appearance, has netted two goals this ongoing season.

Aribo came on for Theo Walcot in the 64th minute but could not change the complexion of the game.

Miguel Almiron opened the scoring at St. Mary’s in the 35th minute by striking into the bottom corner after a slick counter attack for his seventh Premier League goal in his last seven games.

Newcastle looked in full flow and Kieran Trippier soon intercepted a pass to play in Joe Willock, who provided a shot to beat Bazunu into the same bottom corner.

Romain Perraud did strike late on to give Southampton some hope, but Bruno Guimaraes went straight up the other end of the pitch and scored a screamer from distance, reestablishing Newcastle’s three-goal winning margin.

Newcastle have now climbed to third in the Premier League table before Tottenham host Liverpool later on Sunday. Their unbeaten run has stretched to nine games, with the only blemish on Eddie Howe’s record this year being a 2-1 defeat at Liverpool.

Even though today ended with wotowoto, at least, Aribo dey feature small small. Dem wan take bench finish Senior Man for Leicester. For the geriatric Vardy and small boy Daka to be ahead of a striker that should be in his prime currently, is a head shaking something. Na so we see am. Perhaps it will be better for Senior Man to go out on loan, than to be wasting away on the bench.
Make all of unu dey try ooo. E no easy.

I am totally disappointed in Nacho. It will be a huge disservice to our SE for Peseiro to keep inviting him. He is just becoming too comfortable when we have loads of strikers bursting their balls to get invited.

A beg lay off Iheanacho. He is only going through difficult times. He will soon overcome his difficulties and then haters like you and @Glory will be put to shame. He is far better than Erling Haaland on a good day.
Heaven bless Iheanacho and all deserving Super Eagles players going through difficult times.

I have always loved Nacho as a player, but 5 years on the bench? Even when he plays he lacks sharpness. These days his end product is rubbish because he lacks match sharpness – does not play enough 90 min competitive matches. He has even put on weight making him slower. This is one of the most skillful players of his U17 generation, along with Gabriel Jesus. The latter is a starter at Arsenal while Patson Daka who wouldn’t make the SE squad keeps Nacho on the bench.

      • Iheanacho Is a typical Igbo okpatala ego wettin him dey find again lol. Typical Igbo mentality in ball.

        • Kelechi is also not mentality strong has a defitist mentality and quite honestly should have spoken up at Manchester City when they were trying to concert him to a striker the guy is not a striker. He is a natuaral CAM or Supporting role not a point man. The fact he didn’t make this known out of fear of being kicked back to Nigeria and back to poverty is now biting him. I really don’t think Kelechi cares he has made money and is content warming the bench as long as he gets his 60k pounds a month. Which if he showed more zeal and fight he could have been in the 140k bracket by now.

Kelechi wether striker or winger any where, the guy is not good, anytime you see a player been converted just know that he his not good enough for his prefered position, and its only a coach that likes you will do that, in the case of morinho mikel, conte moses, guadiola iheanacho, we always blame these coaches but our boys are not proving otherwise, mane and salah where not converted.
To be honest there is no wing iheanacho can play better than that attack/supporting striker, he is not attacking midfielders like many people always claim in this forum, he doesnt even have 20 percent carracter of attacking midfielders na so una take sweet mouth aribo to that position,
These guys are one two three touch ballers, good in short killer passes, but they are not good ball movers, thay are not strong on the ball and lack speed and strenght, iheanacho and aribo are very similar, they are almost like papilo, (but papilo is verry strong on the ball)their strenght is their shot accuracy and good sence of balling, iheanacho is verry precise shooter, his Got that talent, of creating magic in the box, iheanacho needs to work more on his strenght (precise shorts and killer passes) and live the rest, if i were to be in iheanacho/aribo shoes, a Perfect player to watch and understudy is rivaldho, wasnt a fast ball runner or dribbler like ronaldo or ronaldinho but his left precise killer shorts made him more dangerouse than the above mentioned, rivaldho perfected his killer shooting skills and passes, he made it regular wonders for fans to see that was how he grab his own share of the ballon d oro, that is wat iheanacho should do.
Iheanacho is eigther 8 or 9 he was right winger at the under 17 wcup, may be his number 10 jersey made people think he is number 10. he must be learning something different, iwobi learnt alot from his uncle you can feel the flavour in his game, i heanacho need do similar
