EPL: Arsenal Stay Atop As Liverpool, Man City Share The Spoils

Arsenal will remain top of the Premier League table after Liverpool were held to an entertaining 1-1 draw against Man City at Anfield on Sunday.

The visitors took the lead on 23 minutes through an unlikely source as John Stones rounded off a clever corner routine, tapping home from Kevin De Bruyne’s delivery.

Liverpool should have leveled parity few minutes later but Dominik Szoboszla failed to direct his close header to the net.

The Reds had several goal scoring chances but the likes of Luis Diaz, Nunez and others failed to make it count in the first half.

However, Liverpool constant pressure eventually paid off as Ederson brought down Darwin Nunez after a silly back pass from Ake.

Alexis Mac Allister converted the penalty in the 49th minutes to the delight of the home supporters.

All efforts for both teams to win the game proved abortive as the two teams shared the spoils.

The result means Arsenal remain top of the table. They like Liverpool are on 64 points but have a superior goal difference. City are a point further back. All three teams have played 28 games.
