Arsenal maintained their grip at the top of the Premier League table after defeating Chelsea 2-1 on Sunday at the Emirates Stadium, extending their lead to five points ahead of Manchester City.
There were hearts in Chelsea’s mouths as early as the fifth minute when Robert Sánchez almost gifted the ball to Viktor Gyökeres after dallying on it, but the Blues’ goalkeeper was eventually able to scramble it away.
However, the Gunners took the lead in the 21st minute as an inswinger from Bukayo Saka to the back post was headed back across the six-yard box by Gabriel Magalhães for Saliba to nod towards goal, with his effort deflecting in off Sarr.

The visitor leveled parity in the additional time of the first half as Hincapié’s own goal brought Chelsea back into the game.
Jurrien Timber then restored Arsenal’s lead with a close-range header in the 66th minute, moments before Chelsea were reduced to 10 men as Pedro Neto received two bookings in two minutes.
Chelsea did push late on, with Alejandro Garnacho forcing a great save from David Raya and Liam Delap seeing a goal disallowed, but the Gunners held on.
