“I’m happy that the organisers, the coordinators, the trainers and the celebrities are here and they are all happy to be here.”
On what the participants stand to gain, she said: ”They will gain physical fitness which is very important. There’s a saying that ‘health is wealth’. So, people here are receiving what they need. In a week we take a lot of things into our body but with a walkout like this, we can take all that out of our system which will make us fit for the following week.
Pastor (Mrs) Ojeagbase highlighted the success of the second edition of Complete Sports Celebrity Workout scaled up with more partners who enthusiastically threw their weight behind it to contribute towards healthier Nigerians.
“I know that the success of this second edition will encourage more sponsors to come in. Sometimes people will want to just sit and watch as things unfold. So seeing the turnout, they will want to be part of the next edition.”
Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Rufai, explained the importance of workouts.
“This walkout helps to relax the body. It helps to put the mind, body and soul together. It helps to cleanse up the entire human body. And by the time you are done with the workout, you get to see that you are a new person all together again, in the sense that you become so happy within yourself.”
Rufai gave kudos to the organisers for coming up with the event.
“For the organisers, they’ve done well, it has been worthy in the sense that it has enhanced everybody that has participated and it is a call for more people who were not here. Those who participated will see the difference and the benefits and reach out to their friends.
“Also, the organisers have created a platform to enhance the human being. So, big kudos to the organisers, they should keep this going.“
On his part, Moses Kpakor said he was honoured to be part of the second Complete Sports Celebrity Workout.
“I feel very honoured to be invited and be part of this occasion. For me, I think it’s a good thing. The founder of Complete Sports, the late Dr. Emmanuel Sunny Ojeagbase, is someone I knew very well when I was playing for BCC Lions and the national team. We were good friends. Today, he is no more but the organisation is continuing to grow stronger and stronger.”
Kpakor hopes to see more former internationals in subsequent editions while giving thumbs up to the fitness experts for a job well done.
“The turnout is massive and I think if the organisers can invite Moses Kpakor, there are Taribo West, Edema Fuludu, Friday Ekpo, and Etim Esin who can be part of this. Aside from football, there are those in other sports who can be part of this.”
Kpakor added: “I was very impressed with the way those fitness experts coordinated the exercise sessions. As a teacher of Physical and Health Education at Benue State University, I know what I’m talking about. The people invited to take charge of the exercise sessions are very vast in exercise science. They are experts and I am very impressed because the right methodology is very important. I look forward to being part of this next time.”
The Chief organiser of Complete Sports Celebrity Workout 2.0, Dr Solomon Ojeagbase, while thanking the partners, fitness fans and guests for gracing the event, assured that the next edition will be more exciting.
