Exclusive: 2022 WCQ: Rohr Must Extend More Invitation To Ejuke -Dosu

Former Nigerian goalkeeper, Dosu Joseph has urged the Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr to extend more invitation to Chidera Ejuke after his impressive performance against Cape Verde.

Ejuke, who plies his football trade with CSKA Moscow in the Russian League was a star to watch in Nigeria’s 2-1 win over the Blue Shark in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

In a chat with Completesports.com, the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist stated that Ejuke deserves more chance in the colours of the Super Eagles.

“It’s a delight watching Chidera Ejuke against Cape Verde. He was so impressive and dazzled pretty well from the flank. I think he’s one player that Gernot Rohr should extend more invitation to because he will definitely create more competition for the team.

“In all, I believe the Super Eagles are in command of Group C and I don’t see them losing to the Central Africa Republic (CAR) in the next game.”

I bet CV didn’t see this coming,he was Rohr joker n CV never knew we have such a blistering talent in our kitty that been said our next line should be
    Okoye/uzoho
    Ola/Collins
    Balogun/ekong
    Ndidi/Ariebo/Iwobi
    Kele/oshimen/ejuke
As they say d best form of defence is attack, ejuke will create enough distraction for kele n oshimen to do the damage, bonke is d newest revelation n am seen him benching ndidi in d nearest future I know some guys here will think am high but d guy is good he gives d team a near perfect balance, pair him with Iwobi/Ariebo u will see how good our midfield will be

  • Ejuke can make an impact in any team he plays in because he is confident holding the ball and he has an excellent finishing ability…..Ejuke is very clinical in front of goal and many people have not noticed it yet…..His attempts against CV where all target and he was playing with so much confidence.

  • Lolll mad oooo, but on a serious note, that own goal really need evaluating, I mean what’s he trying to do from the center of the pitch ahhhhh.

  • Ako AMADI 3 years ago

On Ejuke, I agree with Dosu, our great Olympic 1996 goalkeeper. Rohr must hsve also noticed what everyone is talking about

  • All those Clamouring for Ejuke but are still seeing sense in some Invitations like Musa are contradicting themselves in my opinion. Because You can’t support Nigeria carrying players to 100 caps even if they have lost form 5yrs prior and then turn around and accuse the same coach for not inviting some younger talents that needs the exposure. Madness and lack of reasoning. Like I always say time will reveal all.

P.S people on this forum should stop campaigning for Musa to remain captain it is self destruction stop doing it, it is counter productive!. Don’t say I never warned you. The Musa I have seen against Cape Verde is even more ineffective than he was 2 years ago. and will be literally taking up space in the team brutal as it may sound but it is facts.

  • It is only a matter of time before, some on this forum will start Suggesting that Rohr Must drop someone else between, Chukwueze, Iwobi, Kalu or Onyekuru instead of Musa to accomodate Ejuke.. Watch and see. That is the level of Footballing Knowledge I have come to notice on this forum which has led to the realistion that It is simply sentimental, as is everything in this country. “Okay Well lets be loyal to him (Musa) no matter what even if he is not delivering anymore at least he scored 2 goals in world cup 2018 against Iceland (Iceland ke nawa o). We will look for another scape goat even if that scape goat is performing well”. all the while forgetting that football progresses every year. Sad!!

Naija Mentality in a nut shell and it is sad. So before Blaming Naija Government mentality and reasoning some, on this forum should look at their own reasoning to some certain matters.

    • Mr. Nice 3 years ago

If you are a good observer you should have noticed that Gernot Rohr actually took a Mikel Obi to the last Afcon even when everyone expected Alex Iwobi to take over from him, that should tell you this coach is comfortable having his trusted captain around who can add valuable experience to his team, the earlier you understand this and let both Gernot Rohr and Musa be the better for your blood pressure!

      • The Difference With Mikel and Musa is that Mikel Performed every time when called upon right up until that game against Madagascar or have you forgotten that Mikel was pretty much the most Influential player in the Qualifiers to the Afcon even the Friendlies leading up to the tournament I mean we where all excited when he said he would represent Naija for Afcon. Age simply just caught up to him against Madagascar.. Even I can’t explain that. I guess it was the injury just before the tournay started he came in when the tournament was well on the way thats the only explanation…. please don’t compare Mikel to Musa MIKEL HAS 91 one Legitimate CAPS for Nigeria..

SOmetimes I am not sure if some people actually follow this team.

        • That was Mikel’s 91 Cap. Why didn’t Rohr Carry Him until 100 caps like he is Doing Musa. Is it 1. Mikel is a true Leader and knows when To step aside because Mikel’ last game, Madagascar was his worst in a Super Eagles shirt and rightfully he stepped aside. How many bad games has Musa had in a S.E shirt why hasn’t he stepped aside? becaue you can Argue at the time Mikel Stepped down he could still offer more than Musa. I mean look how he is carrying Stoke City on his Back in the Championship a league that is arguably as competive as the Turkish league. So let me ask you this. Why is Musa being carried to 100 Caps is it Quota system? or does he not know when to step aside?. Hence I say the more Musa stays in the team the more it starts looking bad. Besides i mean what experience can Musa bring that Yobo can’t to this team, I mean they played in the same team and Yobo lifted the trophy as Captain just a few years ago and the game hasn’t changed much since Yobo retired infact the last time Musa played High level club football was around the time Yobo was retiring between Yobo and Musa you is the main denominator in tell the young boys what it takes to win an Afcon and so forth and what it is like to maintain form at the highest level. I mean Yobo is Everton Club Legend for god sakes I bet some didnt even know that on this forum. Yes some will say but Musa moved to Turkey yes he did but, what team and is he Playing???.. Again what was Yobo hired for in the SE? I Will tell you if not to pass on exoerience. The same Job Rohr, his lovers and NFF are using as a reason to hold us Hostage with Musa.. Please this Musa needs to be dropped he is redundant in that team. And it is starting to look like quota system

          • Excuse the typo this should make more sense;

After Mikel’s 91 Cap. Why didn’t Rohr Carry Him until 100 caps like he is Doing Musa?. Is it 1. Mikel is a true Leader and knows when To step aside or Quota System?

Because Mikel’ last game, Madagascar was his worst in a Super Eagles shirt and rightfully he stepped aside. Why is Musa being carried to 100 Caps is it Quota system? or does he not know when to step aside?. Hence I say Mikel was a beter leader and can’t be compared with Musa because a true leader knows when to step aside..

            THERE IS ALSO THIS ANGLE

The more Musa stays in the team the more it starts looking bad. Besides, i mean what experience can Musa bring that Yobo can’t to this team, I mean they played in the same team right up until 2014 and Yobo lifted the Afcon 2013 trophy as Captain just a few years ago and the game hasn’t changed much since Yobo retired infac, the last time Musa played High level club football was around the time Yobo was retiring between Yobo and Musa, yobo should be considered as bringing more knowledge and experience in telling the younger boys what it takes to win an Afcon and so forth and, what it takes to maintain form at the highest level. Hahahahaa…Mikel was influential in the qualifiers to 2019 Afcon….LMAOOoo….Is this one drunk…? The same Mikel that opted to be left out of the SE after 2018 WC because of long distance travels from china or another Mikel? LMAOOOoo.

Ive been watching you biting trees since morning but I just kept quiet waiting for when you will talk yourself into trouble…..LMAOOoooo

See fat fat lies and excuses tribal bigot is making for Mikel o….LMAOOOo

Mikel was influential in which friendlies leading up to AFCON…..? The one played in your bedroom….LMAOOOO…???? Pls tell us the pre 2019 AFCON friendlies you saw Mikel play in…..LMAOOOO…that made you conclude he was “influential” in friendlies leading up to AFCON…..LMAOOOooo. Can someone be “influential” in matches they were not called up for or did not play…? LMAOOoo

You and who was excited when he said he would represent Nigeria at AFCON…? The debates by CSN house about Mikel’s return for AFCON haven’t been deleted yet o……they are still there for all to see. Majority opined we had progressed without him and he wasnt needed and were they not justified in the end…?? Was he of any use to us at the 2019 AFCON…?

Your “influential” Mikel was taken out of retirement to AFCON at the expense of younger and fitter players like Semi Ajayi but went there huffing and puffing without contributing anything in the 2 games (vs Burundi and Madagascar) in which he managed to play before Rohr dumped him on the bench for younger Etebo, Iwobi and Ndidi for the rest of the tournament when it was evident he couldn’t cope with the pace of the team anymore….LMAOOOO. If there was anything Mikel was of no benefit to Nigeria in his entire career it was at 2019 AFCON. It was this same MUSA and IGHALO that came on from the subs bench vs Burundi to bail us out of what would have been an embarrassing draw.

The highlights of the 2 matches Mikel played at 2019 AFCON are still there for the whole world to see how “influential” he was…..LMAOOooo

“….Age simply just caught up to him against Madagascar…..”

LMAOOOOoo…age just suddenly caught up with him one day…that is how age catches up with people in your own village right…LMAOOOo…..it just jumps on their back in the middle of the night…..LMAOOOo

“…Age simply just caught up to him against Madagascar…..LMAOOOoo….” What a cheap excuse

Which lie lie injury did mikel have before the tournament…??? FAT LIAR…LMAOOOo. The same Mikel that played almost every minute from January to May till the last day of the season for Middlesborough….??? LMAOOOoo. So if he was nursing an injury before the tournament, do you now admit he was unfit and his selection for AFCON was wrong and illegal…??? LMAOOOOo

He’s looking for excuse to defend the fact that Mikel also benefited from the same gesture he his running insane and criticizing Musa for today….LMAOOOO…..that same measure we have always extended to previous SE captains, of sending them off with a major tournament even when they weren’t offering as much as they used to to the national team again….LMAOOOO

Bloody tribal bigot is cooking up lies and excuses….LMAOOOoo.

Mikel was “influential” in qualifiers and friendlies he didnt play…..LMAOOOoooo. His age just jumped on top of him vs Madagascar and caught up with him…..LMAOOoooo

You are wondering if people follow this team….??? We do. Its your lies that started confusing you….LMAOOOo.

Anybody that wants to kill himself because Musa is being treated the same way previous captains (from Keshi, to Amokachi to Okocha to Kanu to Yobo to Mikel) were all treated in their last days and sent forth with a major tournament….that person should better go and swallow a grenade ASAP because MUSA is going nowhere until at least after 2022 AFCON

          Bloody bigots.

It is today they just realized ageing players/captains shouldn’t be given concessions in the national team….LMAOOoo.
When we took a half fit Keshi (at the expense of younger and fitter players) to USA 94 as a way of honoring and ushering him out of the national team…they were dumb.

When we took Amokachi to 2000 AFCON (at the expense of younger and fitter players) as a way of honoring and ushering him out of the national team…they were dumb.

When we took an unfit and depleted jayjay Okocha to 2006 AFCON (at the expense of younger and fitter players) as a way of honoring and ushering him out of the national team…they were dumb.

When we took Kanu who could barely stand on his 2 legs to 2010 WC (at the expense of younger and fitter players) as a way of honoring and ushering him out of the national team…they were dumb.

When we took Yobo to 2014 WC (at the expense of younger and fitter players) as a way of honoring and ushering him out of the national team and help him reach his much desired 100caps…they were dumb.

When we took Mikel to 2019 AFCON (at the expense of younger and fitter players) as a way of honoring and ushering him out of the national team…they were dumb.

Now it has come to Musa turn to enjoy same privileges other previous captains enjoyed in their later days, it has become an issue…..the heavens have to fall…because the young man is an Hausa from the North

Hatred sure has a way of blocking people’s sense of reasoning. Una go bark tire….LMAOOoo

      UGO IWUNZE.
thanks for your contributions on this platform.
The comparison between AMUNEKE & IKPEBA base on Tunisia/usa’94 and Atlanta’96 will make you to understand what I mean by word “POTENTIAL” analytically.
Dictionary meaning: POTENTIAL-is “having or showing the capacity to develop into something in the future”
Then from your complain, who is now fit into this between MUSA & EJUKE base on POTENTIAL & FORM ?

  • TALK UR OWN 3 years ago

DOSU THANK YOU RAISING ALARM ABOUT THIS PLAYER.
LAST YEAR NOVEMBER FRIENDLY AGAINST TUNISIA, NIGERIANS COMMENDED THE PERFORMANCE OF DESSERS & EJUKE WITHIN SHORT TIME(less than two minutes)THEY ARE BEEN INTRODUCED. WE SAW A GREAT POTENTIAL IN THEM. BUT I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY GERNOT ROHR IS SNUBBING THEM. MOST OF THE TIME GERNOT ROHR INVITED NEW PLAYERS, HE DOESN’T GIVE THEM PLAYING TIME ENOUGH TO PROVE THEMSELVES. TO ME AS TECHNICAL MAN, IS NOT UNTIL A PLAYER PLAY 10 MATCHES B4 U KNOW IS GOOD.
MY ADVICE FOR GERNOT ROHR IS TO PICK PLAYERS BASE ON FORM & POTENTIAL THIS TIME AROUND. THOUGH HE BEEN DOING THAT BASE ON FORM B4 BUT ALSO “POTENTIAL” HAS TO BE INCLUDED THIS TIME AROUND. DON’T BE DECIEVE IN PAST FORM OR PAST GOALS SCORED. **FOR INSTANCE: AMUNEKE VS IKEBA IN TUNISIA & U.S ’94: BOTH OF THEM ARE IN GOOD FORM BUT IT IS POTENTIAL OF AMUNEKE MAKE HIM START AHEAD OF IKPEBA(in respective of his goals scored in Belgium). LIKEWISE IN ATLANTA ’96, WE CAN SEE THAT BONFRERE DIDN’T RELY ON PAST FORM BY MAKING IKPEBA TO START AHEAD OF AMUNEKE(in respective of his world cup experience).
GERNOT ROHR CONTINUE YOUR GOOD RIDE IN SUPER EAGLE AND MAKE POTENTIAL TO BE MOREPARAMOUNT IN YOUR TEAM.
    UP SUPER EAGLE ! ! !

    • SO I don’t undertsand Are you saying Musa has pontential or form??? .. If So Potential wise, I am sure he will be a star in England Now or wouldn’t have been relgated to Leicester city Under 23 or even so He would not have performed average in a Average Saudi Arabian League. Let me on the other hand give you potential.. Potential is Iheanacho. Look at him now he rose to the occasssion or his potential came thorugh either way he is still in England and Musa is not.

Did you know that the difference between Musa generation and Iheanacho’s is that Musa Generation Mikel Obi was the one that had the same Potentials as Iheanacho and Success and co in 2013 and Osimhen, Chukwueze and Nwakali.. That is potential.

Let me not burst your bubble Musa never had Potential he just had blistering speed that was mistaken for potential as his career has proved.

@TALK UR OWN explain your take on Musa is it potential or form you are clamouring for him based on? because as you can see from my above response he does not have either and has in any event past the age gap to be considered as having the former. Meaning his place is not warranted going forward

      • Footballfanatic 3 years ago

Even tho I’m in support of Musa taking a bow it is utterly disrespectful to talk about him in such manner. Forget all his travails in different clubs the man is a Nigerian Legend and will forever be embedded in the history books of Nigerian soccer. Don’t talk down on him cuz he is in his prime that he never had potential. He remains our highest goalscorer in the WC and should be accorded some respect because he paid his dues and delivered at crucial times.

      • Footballfanatic 3 years ago

He Fulfilled his potential after being the youngest highest goal scorer in the Nigerian league by going further to score 4 goals in 2 world cups that some other Nigerian legends never achieved…. so have some respect. Typical ungrateful Nigerian.

        • @Footballfanatic Musa Should have humbly stepped Aside A year or two ago, It is like a stubborn boxer who does not want to retire. after all the thrashings he will receive at the age of 40 his glory days will be forgetting and he will likely be remembered for the lashings not the wins.

Sometimes a person has to learn to step aside so as to not hold a whole Country, National team and other peoples career’s hostage.

Musa must step aside Period!! this is not even meant to be a debate in any event. Again Who is Musa if Ramos had to also step aside when needed then who is Musa???.. Or has Musa achieved more for Nigeria than Ramos Has for Spain. Chai imagine if Ramos was Nigerian people will be clamouring for him to play even with Walking stick Lolzz!! and they will be right because we don’t have a Ramos like defender yet. but MUSA IS NOT RAMOS

Many thanks to you Mr. Dosu for coming out to say it the way it should be . We keep telling the coaches and his followers about Ejuke and other fantastic players but they believe we hate the coaches and Super Eagles.

It is not about Ejuke but also, other players that deserve to be in that team.

How can I or can we keep ignoring the truth when we see the way things are going in the team?

I said it before and nothing wrong in that if I say it again and again Kai, we deserve to have at least two senior national teams.

It doesn’t necessarily mean to use the B team often but for backup most especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, I noticed that our coaches prefer to put our best players on the bench rather than giving them the opportunity to play for Super Eagles.

For some people, they believe Oga Rohr is untouchable because whenever he does, they have no choice, they have to accept it that way. That is their choice anyway.

You have Uzoho on the bench while Okoye on the post and we saw the mistakes he made before for now and some group of people believe we have coaches that capable to build Super Eagles over the five years?

It took Olishe few months to find Ikeme while is going to almost 6 years now for our coaches to find a goalie in Nigeria and out Nigeria to represent Nigeria haba, who does that kę?

They wanted to keep everyone silent but they forget that for us to have a solid team, we have to put sentiments aside and face the truth if we have to win something spectacular while Oga Rohr and Oga Agu still in charge of the team.

As I always, I love Oga Rohr and I can do without loving the Super Eagles but that doesn’t mean I should be following Oga Rohr and other coaches blindly.

For us to win in Cameroon, we still have a lot to do in the Super Eagles.

Even with our A team, we don’t play as a team. A complete team must have a direction and purpose.

A fantastic team must having a distributor, wait a minute, do we have one?

A complete team must having a freekicks specialist, do we have one?

A good team must having two to three best goalies in the team but ask yourself do we have just one? May be Uzoho for now right?

We have all the qualities in place but our coaches have no ideas how to utilize these qualities and when am showing or telling them to do the right thing, their followers get angry for telling the coaches the bitter truth.

I can not lie or betray Nigeria because I have pledged to Nigeria be a good citizen and may God help me.

NFF should hire a competent assistant coach that will help the entire coaching crew before the Afcon in Cameroon because, we need to have a team not individual players.

A complete team will work collectively as a team. Examples are, Super Eagles 94 team, Dream team 96 and the Super Eagles at the Afcon 2000.

I love Pinnick, Oga Rohr, Oga Agu and his fans as human beings but that doesn’t mean I won’t say the truth. They might be angry though but deep down inside them, they know that I am telling them that Super have to keep improving over Oga Rohr. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

” nff should hire a competent assistant Coach to help the entire coaching crew” lol u don change tune I thought u said u want amuneke egbo enyama to be the coaches, lol today u say this tomorrow u change it

      • @omo9ja we understand your point and nobody said you should not criticize or advise the team or coaching crew but try and be constructive while also avoid demanding for coach Rhor to be replaced shekena…….I criticize coach Rhor alot and I disagree alot with some of his actions but I still want him to remain as coach because I see his impact…….For the now we are good to go as a team but Rhor needs to add some competitive spirit into the team…… Remove shirt security from the mind of the players……Let them see their selection as a reward for battling with other players and winning the shirt…… Before The last world cup Rhor refused to coach an SE team comprising of fringe players against Athletico Madrid because he didn’t want distraction for the boys he wanted to use for the world cup…….The main team sat and watched the fringe players playing with nothing to play for as the coach of the team is not even in the dugout…….That’s so wrong because it passed a wrong message to the main team players and that was when our failure at the world cup started……Rhor has a point but he didn’t consider that Nigerians do better under a competitive environment…….We went to the world cup with a relaxed team who already knew they where on the plane to Moscow even before FIFA got the list of players and it’s bad for Nigerian players with their mentality…….Big football countries have started their camping for a major tournament with 35 to 40 players before and heaven didn’t fall……Each player was given a chance to show what he has to offer regardless of your contribution during qualifiers…….The best players will still finally emerge but they will emerge with a different mentality and they will be battle ready because they know what they passed through to earn the right to wear the shirt…….I think Rhor should consider this my logic…….Have a dragnet of like 40 battle tested players before the eve of the tournament and let the best emerge…… I’m 100 percent sure it will still be the players of Rhor’s choice that would emerge but such players will emerge stronger and more determined…….This is what I have to contribute for the now and everyone should have the right to criticize the team because it is for the good of the team……..NA ONLY CRAZE PERSON THEM NO DEY ADVISE

Ejuke and kanu is too talented, is not easy to dribble with confidence. NFf need to organise quality friendly match with South America teams or scaninevia country teams like Denmark for friendly, Switzerland is doing well now. NFF should stop corruption and pay the players they outstanding bonuses so that those guys will play for Nigeria with clear mind and soul.

Please what is going on with Michael Olise? If anybody knows let them tell because we know he can play for 4 very strong countries and Nigeria is only one of those, nevertheless that boy is a BALLER!, if there is any way at all that we can get him to play for Nigeria it will be a massive coup! The boy is destined to be a superstar in football and is very much our type of player, reminds of something of a hybrid footballer, a combination (if you will) of Nwankwo Kanu and JJ combined in one, please oga Rohr this one you must do! Pinnik shine your eyes!

    • Footballfanatic 3 years ago

If he doesn’t play fornus the world won’t end. You can’t force the unwilling. There seems to be some reluctance with him opting for Nigeria and I read somewhere where Rohr said he has closed the doors on Olise and the other guy in Crystal palace.

  • Field Marshall. General. Sir Johnbob 3 years ago

I haven’t seen that myself where Rohr said that but if he has then that’s a trick missed, Olise’s father is a Nigerian man and is prominent in his life so I would have thought if there is an invitation it will have a strong pull for him anyway, I truly hope oga Rohr has not really closed the door on him although I also know that if he has then there must be a story behind it because unless I am mistaken Rohr did put him on a standby list recently

    • Ikeben 3 years ago

Rohr said for the world cup qualifiers and Nations cup he does not have plans for Olise and Eze. Stating that he will not call them again. But if they are interested in playing for Nigeria they should make the move by reaching out to him

Rohr has made enough move to them and they initially responded but later stated weighing other options, so he has moved on but not closed the door. I think it is fair enough.

      • Footballfanatic 3 years ago

Thank you bro….. That is what he exactly said..

      • Rohr needs to move for Ademola Lookman i have said once and I have said again. Nigeria needs to stop this attitude of well they must come if they want, yes thats good but not if the player is a Ferarri. If a ferrai was easy to aquire everyone would have one for gods sake…. We need to select our fights properly there is something called a little bit of a special treatment for a special player not everybody is a special player. Sometimes you need to go the extra mile for some certain players. Hence i said there is something wrong with this country Nigeria we need to chose our fight properly the reason it is easy to get some certain players of duel Nationality is because he is surplus to requirements for the other country usually Germany or England. So A player like Saka or Lookman or Eze wont be Easy natuarally because both nations would love to have them as Saka proved. Is Nigeria cursed or people in power know how gullible nigerians are and will believe every story with out putting some thought into the conversation. Put it this way if ronaldo was duel Nationality do you not think both nations would love to have him. It is simply that, Rohr is not ready to put in the extra work for some certain players and it is usually the ones with a alot of quality mind boggling if you ask me. Really it is.

It’s very funny that the same set of people that clamored for the inclusion of NPFL players in the SE are the ones now clamouring for Ejuke.

Ejuke already impressed when he got his first call-up but lost his SE invitation to the forceful invitation of Anayo Iwuala, whom the NFF kept on inviting for obvious reasons. Once Anayo’s $500k deal was sealed, Ejuke started getting his IVs again and I can bet Anayo will not come near SE camp again unless he proceeds to prove himself in a reputable league in future.

Why is Dosu pretending that he doesn’t know what’s up. Rohr can continue to invite players in peace for the time being, pending when the cabal will come up with another home based player they want to sell. That’s when the ex internationals will go to town again with their criticism of Rohr not inviting home based players.

Now we can all see what that mediocre act called home based quota can do to a team. Imagine us having Ejuke in camp for the Benin Republic and Lesotho ties.

    Enough said jaree
