Feyenoord Fan Sets Up Crowdfunding For Dessers

A Feyenoord fan Peter Van Seventer has set up a crowdfunding in a bid to assist the Dutch Eredivisie club to raise money to purchase Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers on a permanent deal.

Dessers returned to the Netherlands in August 2021 after his spell at Heracles, to join Feyenoord on loan with an option to buy.

Since joining Feyenoord, Dessers has found his scoring touch which seems to have deserted him while at Genk.

He has scored 17 goals in all competitions for the Dutch giants so far this season.

It is the newly formed UEFA Conference League where he has found the back of the net the most, bagging 10 goals and two assists in 11 appearances.

And following his impressive performance, Feyenoord are hoping to have him on a permanent deal but could find it difficult to raise the €4 million asking price.

And according to media outfit voetbalkrant.com, Feyenoord fan Van Seventer has decided to help his club by setting up the crowdfunding.

However, Van Seventer has revealed that he has been receiving death threats from people he feels think he wants to use the crowdfunding for personal use.

“Since Monday morning I’ve been getting death threats and threatening phone calls. Then you’re just not good at it? I started this for fun, not because I want to go on holiday to Curaçao or something. I’ve heard that over the last few days, pure nonsense,” he told the Dutch AD.

“We really have to bring in Dessers , we love that boy. It would be nice if the club now also listens to the supporters.”

Dessers should be in action on Thursday when Feyenoord visit Olympique Marseille, for the return leg of their Europa Conference League semi-final clash.

In the first leg last week Thursday, Feyenoord edged Marseille 3-2 with Dessers getting two goals.

  • Nigerian Coaches saw nothing good in this guy football . In fact,it was an aberration from our treacherous Coaches. Nonsense decision from Rohr and Eguavoen respectively,If Nigeria dare waste time Belgium would take him to Qatar

THIS IS WELL COMPOSED, GALLANT STRIKER.
DON’T KNOW WHY OUR SENTIMENTAL COACHES ARE IGNORING HIM INTO SUPER EAGLE SETTING. OR MAY BE, THEY ARE EXPECTING DESSERS TO OFFER THEM BRIBE BEFORE THEY WILL INVITE HIM. WHAT A NONSENSE!!!

…still on the Dessers matter I read this report on and through to share.

…I was wondering, is it the same Ighalo and Musa who combined could not get 30minutes against Ghana in a crucial game? This home coaches are all the same.

I thought Musa said last nations cup would be his last and even Ighalo seems to be surplus to requirement in Super Eagles already…

We will never make progress as a nation going about our football this way. A team progresses with personnel renewal after a cycle has come to and end. Missing world cup is a cycle ended!

Renewal is needed in Super Eagles… not to continue with methuselal players!
