On his part, Kalu has only scored just one goal and one assist in nine appearances for Girondins after 13 league games.

Galatasaray reportedly almost got a deal done for Kalu on transfer deadline day this summer, and they could eventually land the winger.

Simon is currently with the Super Eagles in Tangier, Morocco, ahead of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde while Kalu was not invited.
