Gerrard: Aribo Very Close To Return From Injury

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard says Super Eagles midfield star Joe Aribo is close to return from injury, Completesports.com reports.

Aribo suffered an ankle injury in September and also had a setback early this month.

The injury made him miss the Eagles’ two international friendly games against Algeria and Tunisia in Austria.

And speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday, Gerrard said this weekend’s derby between Rangers and Celtic is too soon for Aribo to be back in action.

“We are still assessing the International players who have arrived,” the Liverpool legend said.

“We won’t have a full update on the International boys until later today.

“Joe Aribo and Roofe are really close but this game may be a little bit too soon for them to return.

“We coped extremely well missing three of our starters the last month with injury and is the importance of building a strong squad.

“Our results so far have been pretty good, it could have been slightly better yes but to get into Europe again along with our league performances it has been a solid start.

And commenting on the clash against bitter rivals Celtic, he said:”We went last year with a gameplan and performed extremely well and got the job done. We are hoping the players go and produce a similar performance.”

  • Thanks to injury that kept the trio of NDIDI, ARIBALL, ETEBO out of this friendlies….

It makes way for peace to reign on this forum….
Had it been the trio were invited, the hype and advocating for FRANK ONYEKA would have turn to a new released album in nigeria…. And who knows; hell would have loosed by now….
But injury made it possible for the young man(ONYEKA) to come and disgrace those that were busy hyping and advocating for him to be invited….
Now we all know ONYEKA is not ripe for SE ASAP….

    The hype is dead and buried till further notice;

    EHM… BIA… BIKO…. INJURY ABEG U CAN NOW RELEASE OUR COMBATIVE MIDFIELDERS…..

    TANKIU…..

    • Nice one, love that bro!

I think Rohr is a very wise man….
He follows them to the point that they all look foolish and speechless…..

Atleast that one has ended,,,, they have shifted their hype to AZUBUIKE UZOCHUKWU and OLAYINKA…..

I trust our able OGA G.R…..
he knows how to humble them….
