Angola coach, Pedro Gonçalves has tipped the Super Eagles and Ivory Coast as top favourite to lift the 2023 Africa Cup of Nation.
Recall that the Palancras Negras of Angola will trade battle with Nigeria today in the quarter finals at the Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny in Abidjan.
In a chat with Filgoal, Gonçalves noted that since the exit of Egypt, Morocco, Senegal, and Algeria from the competition, the AFCON trophy could be won between Nigeria and Ivory Coast.

“We have a difficult task ahead of us against Nigeria in the African Nations quarter-finals.
“Peseiro is a great coach and his results with them are good.”
“Egypt, Morocco, Senegal, and Algeria were initially nominated to win the title, but they all bid farewell to the tournament.
“Now I believe that Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria have the greatest chances of holding the title.”

I was just about to say the same thing. He has been on this mind games strategy all week. We r not deceived, we know what we have to do.
What he mean’t was the minute the original countries predicted to win the trophy was eliminated,football fans believed the other big nations left are Nigeria and Ivory Coast.
These two are the only big names left,normally people would expect them to win the trophy but not necessarily conceding defeat to Nigeria and Ivory Coast.

Although he might be playing mind games, the guy is not lying, it is going to be Ivory Coast Vs Nigeria in the final.
