AS Monaco coach, Adi Hütter has said George Ilenikhena is capable of scoring even as they play host to Benfica in a Champions League tie at the Stade Louis II on Wednesday night.
Hütter appeared at a press conference on the eve of the clash with Benfica and insisted that he still believes in all his attackers.
With three wins and a draw since the start of the Champions League, the Monaco players have already almost validated their place in the play-offs and now want to continue dreaming of the top 8.
This will therefore have to involve another good result against Benfica at the Stade Louis-II. In any case, this is the objective of Hütter present at a press conference on the eve of the match.
“I still believe in my attackers but it doesn’t matter if they score less because our number 10s or our defenders on set pieces can be decisive,” Hutter said on Tuesday while speaking to reporters.
“For other teams, it’s difficult to defend well against us because it’s easier to do it when only one player scores 20 goals. First of all, the main lesson to remember is that we have several solutions to score.
“But I know that Breel (Embolo), George and Balo (Folarin) who will be back in the next few days are capable of scoring. We managed to score three goals against Brest, we are in good shape and we will see what happens.”
Ilenikhena following his assist in Monaco’s 3-2 win over Brest on Saturday will look to bag his fifth goal contribution against Benfica, having had two goals and two assists in 15 matches in all competitions this season.
