Iheanacho Thrilled To Score Leicester’s Winning Goal Vs Manchester City

Kelechi Iheanacho can’t hide his excitement after scoring the winning goal for Leicester City in their Community Shield clash against Manchester City at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday, reports Completesports.com.

Iheanacho netted the winning goal from the spot in the 89th minute after he was caught inside the box by Nathan Ake.

The Nigeria international started the game on the bench and only replaced Harvy Barves 10 minutes from time.

Iheanacho lined up at City before moving to the King Power Stadium, and admitted that beating his former employers held an odd feeling for him amid the elation.
“I don’t know what to say. I think it is mixed emotions. I’m really grateful for getting the trophy today for my team. I’m really happy,” he said after the game.

“Disappointed not to start? Not really. We have a great squad and anybody that the manager puts in will deliver. We need everybody to get through the season so I’m not disappointed.

“I’m just happy for the team whether I start or not. I just know one thing, if I come in then I have to make an impact and help my team. That’s what I did today.”

Please iheanacho can you stop hidding how you feel from the media, come on man we should all be truthful to ourselves here. The fact that you are the team highest goal scorer last season, prove that you deserve to be on every starting lineup, to be honest i was shocked when i went through livescore and didn’t see him (kelechi iheanacho) on the starting lineup. this proves that coach (brendan rogers) still don’t have complete faith in kels ability as a proven goalscorer. I just hope and pray that my very own (senior man kels) will prove him and all his doubters wrong when the new season fully commences by next week.

Well there’s no better way to prove him wrong than how Nacho conjured and executed the goal that gave Leicester the surprise victory.
Apparently, the season is a long one and every player will have games to prove there mettle,so it doesn’t matter who starts from the first game rather who is able to prove they should be in the first team as the season wears on.

  • Kelechi has a very powerful left foot that can shoot a hard shot even from a static position of his body……. Kelechi will always be a goal threat around the penalty area of any opponent……He had the highest game time since his move to Leceister last season and 19 goals was the result…..I think Rogers should give him more playing time this season inorder for him to score more goals because for kelechi it’s not a matter of if he will score but when he will score as he will always score.
