Iheanacho’s La Liga Goal Drought Continues As Sevilla Lose at Leganes

Kelechi Iheanacho featured for Sevilla but fired blanks in their 1-0 defeat away to Leganes in the Spanish La Liga on Saturday.

Iheanacho has now failed to score in his seven games in the Spanish topflight since joining them in the summer from Leicester.

His only goal for Sevilla was a brace against a lower division club in the Copa del Rey.

Leganes netted the winner with eight minutes left thanks to Miguel de la Fuente.

Sevilla had to play with 10 men from the 80th minute after Lucien Agoume was shown a straight red card.

Following the defeat to Leganes, Sevilla now occupy 13th position on 15 points.

Meanwhile, Iheanacho’s Nigerian teammate Chidera Ejuke is still sidelined due to injury.

The former Leicester player will join his Super Eagles teammates in camp for this month’s AFCON 2025 qualifiers against.
