Alex Iwobi came on as a substitute for the eight time this season in the Premier League for Arsenal who secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over Cardiff at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, reports Completesports.com.
It was the first game the Bluebirds played since the disappearance of striker Emiliano Sala.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s 66th-minute spot kick after Bruno Ecuele Manga clumsily brought down Sead Kolasinac gave the Gunners the lead.
With seven minutes left to play, Alexandre Lacazette doubled Arsenal’s lead with a fine low strike into the bottom corner, although substitute Nathaniel Mendez-Laing pulled one back for Cardiff in added time when he curled a shot past Bernd Leno.
The Nigerian forward, Iwobi came on for Mohamed Elneny at half time in his 21st appearance of the season.
At Craven Cottage, Leon Balogun was left out of the Brighton matchday squad that lost 4-2 to Fulham. Fulham staged a remarkable comeback from two goals down to claim a crucial victory.
Balogun who has made eight appearances in the EPL this season has not featured in an EPL game in 2019.
Glenn Murray’s first-half brace had given Brighton what appeared to be a comfortable lead inside the opening 20 minutes, the veteran striker slotting into the far corner from Martin Montoya’s cross before turning home Pascal Gross’s overhead flick-on.
But Calum Chambers’ volley gave them hope early in the second half before Aleksandar Mitrovic’s brace put Fulham in front for the first time in the match. Luciano Vietto fired home Fulham’s fourth after Tom Cairney’s long-range effort had cannoned off the crossbar.
At Old Trafford, Manchester United came from two goals down to rescue a dramatic point against Burnley.
United were facing their first defeat under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer until Paul Pogba scored from the penalty spot in the 87th minute and Victor Lindelof scrambled in a 92nd-minute equaliser.
The hosts had previously won all eight matches since the Norwegian took charge.
In other results, Manchester City lost 2-1 away at Newcastle United, Huddersfield Town lost 1-0 to Everton while Wolverhampton Wanderers spanked West Ham United 3-0.
