Look goal keeper Rohr gave Nigeria. Euro sports commentary says unconvincing goal keeper. We need Peter Rufia and goal keeper coach please NFF.

What the hell is wrong with iwobi. 2 good clear cut chances spurned by him so far.

Am I the only one missing Chukweze? And for crying our loud what is happening to Iwobi? Out pases were really poor in the first half. They are just passing as if they are shooting the ball.
I still believe we can win but changes are need ASAP

Guinea with the better possession…Nigeria with the better goal scoring opportunities.

Those boys are playing the game with the bonus grudge on their mind. They are intentionally wasting these chances. They are not playing to win. They have done this type of thing before, so this is not the first time.

Super Eagles’ story of the first half – MISPLACED PASSES. Either over hit, or under hit, or directly to the opponent. Two clear cut chances from corner kicks. Both headers wasted by Ndidi and Awaziem. Don’t even want to talk about Ighalo not passing that ball to Musa, who was in front of a yawning net! Overall, good performance by the team. But things need to be stepped up.

Iwobi hasn’t been very clinical with his passes so far. Ighalo should’ve pass the ball to Musa. Guinea need this game as well so it’s going to be fun second half. Our defensive line has been solid and very impressed with Awaziem. We still have some jokers on the bench, Onyekuru and Osimhen should  come in at some point.

People judging Ighalo based on one match that he was just lucky to get a creative pass from a creative defender, you don see am ba. No goals after like 80mins of play. You don’t judge players or performance based on one match

The squad is complete. How many noticed the absence of ekong wasn’t felt. Almight Mikel didn’t play at all yet the midfield was tight I don’t see him getting to play defensive midfield any more that position is filled with faster player the only place Mikel can manage is attacking midfield which iwobi is unarguablely number1. We didn’t even play osihem and Henry yet their absence wasn’t felt.. Kudos Rohn you selected the best… Plz is there still room for iheancho??

Rohr has done a good job you could see his input in the team.Rather you should blame the players for not taking their chances.Ighalo should have passed to Musa for a very easy tap in.You can’t blame Rohr for that or can you?

      Thumbs up to ndidi…star marker
Iwobi not up to par, misplaced passes here and there. Only glimpses, how long will this go on
The defence marshalled by omeruo, I doff my cap
Akpeyi, was not tested per se….under pressure he will cave in!.he still doesn’t have it in him
Moses, Moses Moses u can do better up front but I salute ur defensive contribution
Musa was a thorn in d flesh, would have done more if output from d middle was better
Ighalo, can’t really blame him. Was marked out. Even Suarez won’t do much when marked out
Overall, the team got it done albeit tasteless and drap.

Thank God we won the match. Another mistake. Why removing Iwobi for Chukwueze? Against big teams, Super Eagles would be punished. Mikel would have been better. The midfield collapsed after Iwobi was sub.

Why he refused to use Onyekuru? I said it before the match, you can’t use Ighalo for the full match and coach Rohr’s fans started calling me names. They even called me clown.. oh yeah clown clown…. you don see am now?

You are celebrating this victory but a lot needs to be learned. If win this tournament, not by coach Rohr ability or coach Agu but destiny and players.

A little I watched in today’s match wasn’t bad but I’m not convinced with the coach Rohr’s tactics.

You can quote me wrong now but let’s wait until we are playing against the host and other big names. I don’t which my Country bad but the truth is hurt which is my daily food lol. Let’s celebrate and stay humble for now.

Coach Rohr’s assistant are there for nothing. The sub he made shows that Coach Rohr can’t do it alone. I’m afraid.

I don’t watch football blindly. Using Ighalo in the second half is the best option. Using Onuachu or Onyekuru will be the best for the team.

But can he? What is the purpose of having assistant coach?

NFF are the problem of this situation. Hmmm, what do I know ba. Naija with their daily dramas. How market my people? It is well ooo. God bless Nigeria!!!

        .
“If we win this tournament, not by coach Rohr ability or coach Agu but destiny and players.”.
        .
But if we dont…it is solely coach Rohr…not destiny….not players…not any other unforeseen circumstances.

Clap for yourself. I dont expect anything less from you. I’m only surprised you forgot to add that NFF should sack him ASAP the way you always do.

The same rohr that has molded the team into a solid, difficult to break team…a team that can survive 2 clean sheets with a basket like akpeyi in goal. A team that will face players from Liverpool, Napoli, Eintract Frankfurt, Bordeaux etc, (coached by an AFCON silver medal winning coach) and the keeper would not need to make any save for 90 mins. That same Rohr is not good tactically now.

For only the 2nd time in close to 30 years, we have qualified for the next round of AFCON with a group game to spare, but according to some people, our coach is not tactical.

Same people who cried that Mikel played 10 now complaining again that the coach didnt sub him in to play the same 10 they crucified him for the last time. Bunch of confused people.

Later they will claim they love Rohr.

I thought you said you dont care about AFCON and that you wouldn’t be watching…! LMAO

Calculator sellers at Alaba market and other markets beyond are holding an emergency meeting as we speak. Ever since Nigeria hired GERNOT ROHR as coach of the Super Eagles, calculator sales have dropped. Nobody is buying calculator again. We qualifed for 2018 world cup without any need for calculator. Qualified for Afcon, calculator nowhere to be found. Now, we have qualified from our Afcon group to the next stage. Again, no calculator! The calculator has been rendered useless and redundant by GERNOT ROHR. So, calculator sellers are worried sick! When will the calculator become relevant again to the Super Eagles? Calculator sellers want to sell their market oooo!

      On point MR X

MR. X COMMENTING ON TEAM LIST BEFORE THE MATCH:
Not bad barring Akpeyi.I’m glad Rohr has finally listened and given Iwobi his chance. The man can be so stubborn, see how he was gifting Onazi starting eleven chances, even when we were saying Onazi has CLEARLY declined and needs to be dropped. Finally, the coach learnt his lesson the hard way, when Onazi cost us a lot in a friendly just before the WCup.
I used to tell people Iwobi thru d middle is sumtin that wud not be much of a risk, forget how Arsenal(my team) is using him. In d WCup dat tactics cud have saved us too,eg abi don’t we know dat Mikel was tired in d 2nd half against d Argies?

Now those dat shouted, eventho Iwobi was listed as an attacker, dat d coach shud consider using him as a midfielder in d nations cup, shud be smiling now. That’s competition and that’s how our team shud be.
To me,it’s a better team than the first match. Nor fear for Balogun, one thing with that guy,is his heart– he has a passion dat has a way of pulling him tru wen d going gets tough.
Akpeyi? It’s a pity, this is b4 us. I tell u,Akpeyi is not better than Enyimba’s keeper or Lobi stars keeper, lemme not mention Austin Ejide.Where is Dele Alampasu?
The bright side of d Akpeyi matter today is dat,he has a better midfield in front of him today,d defence too shud play slightly better than d last match,so alas the keeper will breathe more fresh air and it’s an opportunity for his confidence to grow.
I think we shud beat Guinea eventually.
      Shalom

      MR Y REPLIES MR X:
Iwobi played that role all through the qualifiers for the AFCON. This is not the first time he’s been given the chance to play as a number 10.

      MR. X, AFTER THE MATCH:

@Mr. Y,yes but Mikel was absent isn’t it?It’s a different ball game if Mikel is in the team, like at the Worldcup.
So his playing 10 today is different from his playing 10,when Mikel is not in the team. SO THIS IS NEW.

You can also see that he began to have an eye for goal as the game wore on. It’s a decent effort from him today,I know he has it in him to do better,if allowed to continue there.
“I think we shud beat Guinea eventually.”
As if I already knew it wud be an “eventually” thing. As if I knew Guinea will try hard but eventually the Super Eagles will find a way.
We saw Balogun, that is the HEART I talked about. We saw a better defence with Omeruo,Awaziem and Ola on fire,so it helped Akpeyi gain some confidence.Ofcourse,he still must improve.

So kudos to the Super Eagles.
I just sorry for the team we will play in the third match, lots of players on the bench who are like bulls ready to go on rampage and possibly break into the usual starting eleven.

When the draw for this group came out, any pundit would have told you that Nigeria should scale through without too much difficulty. We have done so and while it shouldn’t be taken for granted, it is the very least expected out of us.

I for one keep looking at this team with a critical eye towards matching up against the other heavyweights we are likely to come across in the quarterfinal and beyond if we are fortunate to get there (which we should be).

The positives are we have qualified with a game to spare and can now rotate the squad in the last match. This is a huge benefit as a result of the grueling conditions in Egypt. We have also won both matches without really getting out of 1st gear too much which means there’s another level we can take it up to (a necessity when playing better opposition). We are also seeing that we have squad depth and flexibility.

To be worked on is the passing efficiency and accuracy especially by etebo, ndidi, and iwobi (in today’s match). There’s no saving us from Akpeyi as he’s here to stay and we just have to pray that he doesn’t cost us when it matters. Otherwise I say carry go Eagles. I’m with you all the way.

Kudos to Ndidi, Omeruo, balogun, awaziem, and musa today.

That’s exactly what we’ve been talking about. A bench that is as good as the first 11. I can’t remember the last time the SuperEagles have such a luxury of game changers on the bench. Now we will get to see the likes of Onyekuru, Osimhen, Kalu in full swing against Madagascar because we’ve qualified with a game to spare for the first time in as long as I can remember. Thank goodness we have a foreign coach who knows what he’s doing. The defense looks water tight Awaziem was superb, Kenneth ‘Nesta’ Omeruo and Balogun combo seems the best for this AFCON going forward. Aina enough said about a player with tactical ingenuity from serie A. The midfield is gelling with Iwobi Etebo Ndidi with a plethora of options in attack. SuperEagles will at least play in the Semis and that will a good achievement for this team and Rohr. If they reach that stage they’re as good as winning the cup itself. #FLY LIKE AN EAGLE INTO THE FUTURE#

Kudos to Coach Rhor and Super Eagles! Pls sir bring in Osimhen, Onyekuru, Kalu, Collins, Uzoho/Ezenwa in our game against Madagascar. Some of these players like Osimhen (19 goals) and Onyekuru came to camp with a great form in goals and trophy (Onyekuru) under their belt and we can’t afford to watch them waste on the bench. Thank you sir, pls give Chukwueze more opportunity at the attacking midfield role as I strongly believe he has the skills, pace and tenacity for such role.

Pls our players, especially the final 3, need to train to be more clinical at the box. Pls Iwobi, Chukwueze, Igalo, Musa and co haven’t you learnt how to use R² to score goals or don’t you watch your top colleagues in club do it (also see Egypt’s 1st goal in their first Match)? Again thanks to Omeruo for the header, the team has to practice more on set pieces and penalties as we move to the knock out.
God bless you and your team sir!!!
