This is a response to that loud mouthed naysayer @BEN and your side kick dumbass @MONKEY POST. FYI Sudan is rated higher than MADAGASCAR and CAR who both handed your god painful defeats unheard of before in the annals of our football.

Go get some life @MONKEY NYANSH (apologies @Telldem)lol.

I am no EGUAVOEN supporter (go check all my previous posts), am a supporter of good football and TANGIBLE results! And I tell you what? This team is balling. You may not appreciate this as you probably are watching from.noisy bars or online site with network issues. I am.watching those games LIVE and DIRECT in Cameroon and I can tell you AUTHORITATIVELY what I saw in the last two matches compared to the last match against CAPE VERDE at TESLIM BALOGUN (watched it live too) are as distant in quality and tactical interpretation as the sun.is to our earth.

  • Proudly 9ja 2 years ago

Goal for 9ja. Chukwueze with an easy finish

  • Naija 2 years ago

With what I am seeing after our goal, I don’t think we can win this tournament. The Sudanese are winning the balls in the midfield and Simon Moses is being heavily closed down.

    • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

I think this is rather too early.

Its just 15 minutes for kingdom’s sake.

Why we expect teams to always lie down on the ground for us to roll over them is something I still dont understand.

      • My brother I tire ooo, that’s just normal for the team that you score against to push forward, but we soak up there pressure easily and okoye still yet to face any threat

    • Some comments here sha, Chukwueze is playing much better than today. Quite alright, some of his take ons are not going to plan but at least his movement has been good on and off the ball. Imagine him tracking back to recover the ball that was misplaced by him.

      • Adeyemi 2 years ago

Complaining Nigeria cannot win the tournament only after two games? Jeez. These guys are trying. We beat Egypt and the second game is going according to plan and one is saying otherwise. Some Nigerians sha!!
Imagine those Nigerians complaining. Yes, he seems lost sometimes or indecisive but he’s playing well. His movement off the ball is great. Leave all those complainers alone.

    • Mr man are you watching this game on a 10 inches television?

  • Proudly 9ja 2 years ago

This game will not be a stroll in park for the SE. We have to be patient and keep possession and tire out the Sudanese. They are a very physical side and we have to match dia physicality.

  • Naija 2 years ago

I am sorry to be pessimistic but we can’t win this tournament. Why are we focusing on Moses Simon when we can use the other wing???

    • EZOMO 2 years ago

It’s OK that’s ur opinion let’s keep on watching

    • Supatemmy 2 years ago

So as they nor gree draw us so, hop u don cover your eyes with shame… opata yarners

  • Naija 2 years ago

With what I am seeing so far, the Sudanese may end up getting a draw or even a win from the game. We are losing too many balls.

  • pompei 2 years ago

The goal is nice, but so far, the intensity we saw in the Egypt game is missing.

    • Adeyemi 2 years ago

So, you expect the same intensity? The opponent matters in football. Against Egypt, each country showcases their game. Sudan is playing defensive game with all their 10 players in their own half. Super Eagles are playing well. Thank you

      • pompei 2 years ago

Hehehe, you’ve changed name from Dayo to Adeyemi, abi? Pursuing me upa and down, giving unwanted responses to my posts? Go and seat your idiotic self down! Fool!

          • pompei 2 years ago

I agree with you. YOU ARE A WRONG PERSON.
I beg you, leave me alone!

  • Lord AMO 2 years ago

Not quite as sharp as tuesday’s game. Perhaps it should be expected especially in the heat. It human nature to come down in intensity a bit considering the drop down in the level of competition. I think we’ll be fine

  • LET US FAIL WITH OUR OWN 2 years ago

Lol. No one disrespect 9ja and get away with it. Newcastle 1-0 Watford. lol (Dancing to Zazu zeh)

  • Jones 2 years ago

I don’t know why Eguavoen switched to a 4-4-2 and not the 4-2-3-1….Sudan seems to be the better team

    • Jones 2 years ago

      Sudan are controlling that midfield.

      • Adeyemi 2 years ago

Are we watching the same game?

      • Greenturf 2 years ago

We have over 60% ball possession so how are the Sudanese controlling the midfield? This is a contest it’s not going to be a stroll in the park all the time. You can see they are closing up on our players giving no room for space that was why it was a little bit scrappy but having said that,we are in total control and leading well that’s what matters.

  • Naija 2 years ago

Chukwueze might have scored but he appears unfit. He shouldn’t be in this line up.

    • agreed. he is off. cannot complete one dribble or make a good pass or run into space. really off.

    • @Naija, you are a baaad fan! I will advice you to stay off the TV for now.

  • They said the Sudanese are physical but looking at them, they look like dem no belleful sef

  • Proudly 9ja 2 years ago

Nigeria needs to score another goal to kill off any hope of the Sudanese getting anything from dis game. The longer the game stays 1 nil, the greater the chance of d Sudanese getting a positive result.

  • Proudly 9ja 2 years ago

This is gradually becoming one of Ndidi worse games. He is losing possession cheaply always looking to play the striker through but with high balls which the Sudanese will easily intercept. Suda are doubling up on Simon and chukwueze whenever they have possession.

    • Naija 2 years ago

If it wasn’t for Aribo our midfield would have totally collapsed.

  • How did this ball not enter from six yards out? Almost 2-0.

  • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

    Goal….!

    (I guess)

    • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

      Yea…….100% legitimate goal.

And Taiwo finally get’s his first of many for the SE

  • Proudly 9ja 2 years ago

    Awoniyi scores

    • Naija 2 years ago

I am happy for him. He has been working really hard. I think Samuel should be substituted. He got the first goal but his game levels are not what they used to be. He could hardly complete a dribble or pass.

    • Charles 2 years ago

Sudan didn’t come to Cameroon for free, they also got players who are getting paid, all super eagles needs to do is to beat them 4 : 0 that’s all matters most, Nigeria are playing soft because they want to stay fit and fresh, they can’t be using all their energies play this game, guys should learn how to read game, Sudan will try but they can’t win

  • John-I 2 years ago

Awoniyi scores. Iheanacho with the delivery lol

    Ekong did well though.

Taiwo Awoniyi has scored, I’m happy. I hope Iheanacho scores in the second half.

Aribo was fantastic in the first half.

    • Apart from the goals which were 2 different stroke of luck, Nigeria is actually playing useless. Aribo cannot effectively connect the defence to the attack.
Due to an effective playmaker in the game for Super Eagles, Sudan is looking threatening.

Iwobi should be brought on in the 2nd half.

      • Prince-John Nkemjika 2 years ago

You must be clearly watching the back of your TV set

      • Adeyemi 2 years ago

Lol. Where are you watching this game? I doubt we are watching the same game. I quite satisfied with the performance. Sudan is fortunate to be losing my 2 nil.

      • Garre 2 years ago

Lol did you call those goals lucky goals? You must be watching the game from the back of your tv lol

        • Wait now, let’s progress first and meet CIV or Cameroon first. Then you will see what I meant by lucky goals.

Only Moses Simon’s goal was worthy. How many times do you see a throw in end up in a goal???

          • And you think CIV and Cameroon have played any better? People like you swore with your lives that Egypt will beat Nigeria. You should hide your head in shame.

    • Stanley 2 years ago

My honest opinion about 9ja so far is that they can go far in this tournament but may not win unless God of soccer favours them.

  • Good show super eagles!

  • Lord AMO 2 years ago

Meh, but 2-0 is about right. This game is simply about getting the 3 points, gelling some more and avoiding injury

  • KENNETH 2 years ago

Please remove chukweze abeg, what on earth is he playing. He had so much opportunity on the right flank to do damages like simon did against Egypt. Hope dr dry can see thye difference. See aribo commanding the midfield beautifully. Thank God rorh left. This eagles reminds me of the 90’s team

  • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

Nigerians need to be humble…..Do we think every team is just going to sit back and let us attack after what the whole world saw on tuesday? Of course not and the earlier we realize that the further we go into the tournament the harder the games we will play but honestly if we are to go far we have to have a diff strategy….Stronger teams will realize that if they close down our wings, they have basically clipped our wings to fly lol…

    • Naija 2 years ago

That’s my point. Moses Simon was closed down. We didn’t have any threatening moves in the middle. We kept feeding Moses on the left flank. Thank God for Aina. He has done more than Samuel on the right flank.

  • Dennis 2 years ago

We’ve played like a team but Chukwueze hasn’t offered much on his wing. Ejuke might just fancy his chance

  • Ololo 2 years ago

The boys are trying their best , but they can do better..

These are the type of games oshimem loves to play, or someone like ighalo.. awmoyi is good but not yet in the level of oshimem and igahalo but I’m sure he would get there soon. Oshimen in the last Afcon was far from whst he is today so awonyi will come good.. congratulations to him on his first international goal for Nigeria..

For the second half we need iwobi, for either iheancho or awonyi, and ejuke for sam chuks.. I will also love to see musa , probably as a top 9 because I’m not sure saqid is what we need now

  • Seems Aribo has taken Iwobi’s slot o… It’s well, let’s see how the tournament shapes up…

  • Field Marshall. General. Sir Johnbob 2 years ago

There is no tempo or forward momentum, counter attacks like we saw in the Egypt game here and this is very disheartening because it is looking like the same old lacklustre and underwhelming performance from the boys and I pray ity does not lead to losing this game in the end, also we need to get rid of this kind of toothless showings if we are going to progress in this Afcon let alone the WCQ’s

    • shina 2 years ago

Which game are you watching. Or is you Tv faulty. I would say this game we creating more opportunities than the Egypt game. The Sudanese are focusing on Simon more not knowing chukwueze is also deadly, but he is just slowing the game down.

    • Adeyemi 2 years ago

Please, analyze and study things well before showing your ignorance

  • LET US FAIL WITH OUR OWN 2 years ago

This guy(Dennis) career is just dwindling down since that club refusing to release him controversy. Lesson: Try hard,(possible fight/protest if you have to like Ighalo) never to disrespect your fatherland. He was removed early on in the first half. No joke with benin and warri Oracle. Lol.

    • tElLdEm 2 years ago

      • LET US FAIL WITH OUR OWN 2 years ago

Oga no need to insult me na. I wasn’t the one that came up with this. It was @JimmyBall our president

    • It’s rather great that we are not using long balls like we did on Tuesday because this is where we will see the true capabilities of Aribo and our team.
Long balls are actually a sign of lazy play, work the ball through the field on the floor, that’s how we will get better.

Not everytime long balls which hardly get nowhere or most times with the opposition.

  • Proudly 9ja 2 years ago

This has been a masterclass by Eguavoen, people might not see it that way but if you watch the game u will understand that Sudan pose a bigger threat than Egypt due to the unknown. With Egypt u know exactly what u will get, with sudan there is no point man of great talent that your team plans against. Sudan makes up for their lack of talent with physicality and athleticism. But with all of dia huff and puff they’ve only had one tame shot at goal dat was like a backpack to okoye which he plucked from d air. Tge match has been played predominantly in the Sudanese half. Our boys are playing well, keeping possession and creating lots if chances without our goal being threatened at all. The boys and coaching crew have been great mapping a game plan dat ensures victory. Eguavoen once again true to his word said each country pose its own challenge and will take it one game at a time. He comes up with different strategies for each team he plays, u can’t use only one particular game plan for every team otherwise u will be found out, that to me is a hallmark of a good coach and the ability of the players to execute these strategies in a short period of time is a testament of dia professionalism which bodes very well for 9ja. We can now relax and watch how the boys are going to manage the rest if d game knowing we are up by 2. Great job so far eguavien and the SE, we are all solidly behind u as you fight and rep ur fatherland.

  • Charles 2 years ago

NO body wan carry injury first of all and this match no matter what Sudan can’t beat super eagles, the boys are trying really hard but Nigerians we love to critize in everything if the guys aren’t playing to your satisfaction. Enjoy the game and see more goals, I just want Nigeria to trash Sudan because of their coach that’s all talking trash. Thank you

  • Papafem 2 years ago

People saying SE aren’t as forceful as they were in the game against Egypt should know that Sudan presents a different challenge. The tempo they brought into the game isn’t as intense as that of Egypt. Their build up is slow, preferring to sit back, soak the pressure by some robust marking then launch a counter attack.

A big part of the battle is fought in the midfield, where they were easily dispossessed mostly by Ndidi and Aribo. There is no point burning unnecessary energy on a team that is not pushing you that much. But the stat says it all. We are cruising, and 2:0 isn’t a bad result by our standard.

    Goal for Simon moses

  • Naija 2 years ago

I beg comot for road for Moses Simon. I am happy now. How can Sudan be posing threats to my dear country? Shoir! But I am still not happy 100%.

  • pompei 2 years ago

Ehen! They now resemble what we saw against Egypt a little bit. Show intensity, show desire. No big man football please.
Good subs from Eguavoen. Let’s keep it up.

  • Proudly 9ja 2 years ago

What a goal, excellent build up play. Awoniyi is a very intelligent player. His holdup play all thru the 2 games has been great. The way he brings his teammates into play is good as well. In Awoniyi’s interview he said, he knows if he keeps doing the dirty job for his team, goalscoring opportunities will come. that is so true, he has worked so hard for the team in both games so far Iheanacho’s 1st touch dat i used to worry about has really improved in this tournament, he also releases the ball quicker, 1 to 3 touches and he releases the ball. These guys are really doing us proud.

  • Charlo 2 years ago

    Go to eagles!!

  • pompei 2 years ago

Jimbo my man, Troost Ekong is determined to prove you wrong ooo. The guy has been balling for us so far. I’m just loving his performance. Marshalling the defense like a Trojan.
I hope I will not invoke the COMMENTATOR’S CURSE with this comment. Let him not go and lay a huge egg on the field after I have finished praising him.
But so far, so good. So very good.

  • Proudly 9ja 2 years ago

Penalty for sudan from a pull on aina

  • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

    Na wah o. This VAR…..!
You cant even make new friends in secret again

  • pompei 2 years ago

A goal for Sudan. One of the softest penalties you will ever see.

  • Proudly 9ja 2 years ago

Someone needs to tell Saidu to calm down and manage the game. Keep the ball, its the sudan side that should be chasing the game not us.

    • Papafem 2 years ago

The guy isn’t that intelligent. I saw him again Egypt , booting the ball far beyond the target , when a simple cross would have suffice. Misplaced a lot of passes today. I would like to see Ebuehi come in for him..

  • pompei 2 years ago

As far as I’m concerned, this ref owes us a penalty. Our boys just need to go and fall in the Sudan box.

  • pompei 2 years ago

Iwobi’s intro has injected more energy into our attack.

  • onwajunior 2 years ago

These guys are not making it difficult for Osimhen to take his spot back

    • Adeyemi 2 years ago

Osimhen doesn’t loses goal scoring chances as well?

      • onwajunior 2 years ago

Not just that. Everything!!! Plays, assists, runs, goals…everything

        • OnwaJ, haw far my guy. Osimhen is special but Awoniyi self no bad at all, I believe

          • onwajunior 2 years ago

Tols baba!!! I dey oh. Yes, agree with you. Awoniyi is good. I just want him to grab this chance and make it difficult for Osimhen.

        • Adeyemi 2 years ago

Awoniyi’s can also dribble, and his ball hold up is superb. Both of that are good and will get the job done. There’s no reason to start comparing Awoniyi and Dessers to Osimhen. This is not club football but national assignment. We should be glad that we have arrays of strikers who are doing well. One Nigeria.

  • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

Nwakali is not ready for prime time …. Sadiq too and Musa just needs to retire after Afcon.

    • onwajunior 2 years ago

Yea… Notice it as well. Good they’re getting experience, but I don’t think they’re in the same class as the others. Nwakali killed the flow if our hame on a number of occasions.. Swift 1-2 my guy is passing back to the defence

      • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

He kept passing back…..At one time he passed back to the same defender twice….not ready to move forward with the ball.

  • pompei 2 years ago

Our boys should be careful. If small breeze blows on a Sudan player in our box, na confirm penalty be dat.

  • Proudly 9ja 2 years ago

Personally I would have loved to see the partnership of Sadiq and Olayinka upfront than a Musa and Sadiq. Although we can see the silky play of Nwakali but his ability to track back is still suspect. An Onyeka would’ve been better in my view against the physical Sudanese team but the coach has been on point so far. The penalty is the only blemish on this well executed game plan by the players and coaching crew. Kudos to them. Well played SE.

  • Field Marshall. General. Sir Johnbob 2 years ago

The reality is that Nigeria are always a very difficult team to play against or beat from the point of view of other countries because regardless of out internal turmoils (and the Good Lord knows they are many!) we are never easy to play against even for the so call better side who thinks they are going to win it is still never an easy win – This is one of the reasons why I love my country and why we must continue to use our own indigenous coaches and never again employ another Oyibo coach, Let’s use our own talents, there are many.
Mr Eguavoen more grease to your elbow, we are all wishing you nothing but success with our boys

  • pompei 2 years ago

This Gomez ref is COMPLETE JOKE.
He should have played advantage and allowed Musa to run at the Sudanese goal!

  • Good 1st half performance. 2nd half team is Rohr’s super eagles team. Hard for them score goals

    • Jide Dola 2 years ago

Nwakali that is not ready yet that is passing backward is Rohr team, Rohr needs to be respected bcos he built that team, he has put good work into that team.
      2. I will prefer Iwobi to be coming in for Aribo bcos of his defense splitting passes. And also good victory for the team, unto the next round

  • Dr. Drey 2 years ago

Congratulations once again to be boys for putting yet another win in the bag.
Another show of efficiency on display.

Time to start getting ready for the real tournament.

  • pompei 2 years ago

Simon fouled outside the Sudan box, Ref Gomez no blow. Wooooooow!
A real hogwash performance by the ref. Dashed Sudan one of the softest penalties ever awarded in the history of football. And nonsense officiating in select moments of the game.
In spite of his incompetence, our boys still carried the day. Well done to the coaching crew and the players.

    • Naija 2 years ago

I noticed that too. That Sudanese player just got Aina into trouble.

    • Mahmud Shuaib 2 years ago

      • MONKEY POST 2 years ago

@Ben is gonna be a disaster. Is better we don’t. How can the defense face a more clinical striker like Aboubakar? For me even our keeper has not been really tested. He had it soft against Egypt likewise sudan.

          • Chinenye 2 years ago

@Ben yea the same lies you and your evil clique told your pathetic selves about Ighalo and Musa needing to be in the team. You now see the way the team is moving foward witout them? You see your Musa playing a bit part role under a new manager? You see a different Moses Simon? That’s how it should be

    • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

The subs have been disappointing no lie… Gid forbid injury in this tournament cuz our bench in certain departments are suspect. Nwakali, Sadiq, and Musa killed the tempo if the game.

      • Only Umar you can blame. Musa was a willing runner, but they didn’t find him enough,it was all balls to Simon(who was terrific again today).
Nwakali was brought in to calm the game down. His back passes where as the coach instructed. When he went forward scarcely, you need to see his beauty. Lovely Kelechi!

That foul was very unnecessary. We just unwittingly gave the Sudanese that penalty on a platter!

  • Please who saw my Kelechi on that pitch! That elegant, sleek customer with a cute left foot. No not Iheanacho,I mean Nwakali. Please if you see him greet him for me o.
I like this boy, Iwobi stay wing first.

    • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

You obviously don’t know what you are saying….. Nwakali a left footer???

      • Nope not a left footer,u see his free kicks with his strong right foot na.
I love his left foot that’s all. He traps, dribbles and passes with it nicely. Oh how we can deliver accurate long balls.
We have a veritable option in the middle of the park now is my point. You didn’t comment on that,na left foot you dey find.

  • The subs gave the Sudanese an advantage somehow, I appreciate some flashes of brilliance from them tho… But they all need to step up o! Our first eleven seems good to go for now, chukwueze seems unfit, but he is still a threat.

  • Ololo 2 years ago

Our star men in this tournament are : ekong, aribo and Simon, pls coach rest these players for the next round.. we don qualify Maka injury..

I was happy ejuke was in the bench all through , let him understand he needs to stop being selfish.

Sadiq now understand he is playing in the Afcon, he did so well today, another serious Injury for our opponent while trying to mark our player. Awonyi is good but he is wasteful , Sadiq needs to start the next day to put awonyi on serious pressure.. congratulations to the boys. Stay injury free in the next match.

    Ujoho

    Ebuhi. Ndah. Ajayi. Collins

    Onyeka. Nwakali.

    Ejuke. Iwobi. Onyekewere

  • Chukweze is not fit at all. He is too predictable. He won’t last in football just like Pius Ikedia

    • Don’t say that@Tols, observe that Chukwueze appear to be too careful not to make mistake; even his take ons and runs has dropped…. Something definitely is wrong behind the scene.

Reports from SE training camp, before the Egypt match, stated that Coach Eguavoen yelled aggressively at Chukwueze to pass/release the ball; asking him to stop too much dribble.

      https://thestreetjournal.org/release-the-ball-super-eagles-interim-coach-eguavoen-yells-at-chukwueze-in-training-ahead-of-egypt-tie/

Folks, you correct a player calmly.

Coach Eguavoen should be very careful not to kill the dazzling Chukwueze’s morale in this tournament o. Try to draw him closer and calmly encourage him.

Chukwueze still has enormous, great and impeccable footballing skills and charisma in him (undisputable).

Chukwueze has been one of SE best players even at last AFCON (His mesmerizing goal vs South Africa is a case study), coach Augustine Eguavoen what is wrong????

      Nigerian Fans are Worried!!!

      • I do not see anything in Yelling though @Nosa. Before someone can Yell, he would have discussed plan or say it many times. He is the manager and at times, there is need for yelling. It can make someone see mistakes and get better. In tight games like this Sudan game where there is close marking, passes or crosses can only work better. 2 or 3 players are mostly on him.

        Speak for yourself mai gida

        Which fans are worried??

That report says he yelled at Chwukueze prior Egypt tie. Now ask your self, apart from the goal Samu scored today, is the Samu against Egypt better than the Samu against Sudan?

  • MONKEY POST 2 years ago

Am sure their Amunike and Kanu didn’t hype their victory against Brazil and Argentina at Atlanta 96 the way we are doing against sudan. What a shame!

    • Who told you they didn’t hype their victory in 96?
That is how you said victory over Coton Sport of Cameroon is nothing, but the coach said it is something and it is a useful test for Nigeria.
      What is your own sef?

      • MONKEY POST 2 years ago

LMAO! @Oge if they did isn’t that better? You want to compare the feeling that comes with defeating brazil, Argentina to a country that is not even a football nation in Africa?

        • My brother u are not an interpreter are you? Are u an interpreter of feelings or emotions?

People are happy,u say na over-hyping. Won’t they be happy again? Which person have you commended for having normal happiness?

If a Nigerian team came into a competition with proper preparation that is different, but we did fire brigade approach,it’s just the experience of Eguavoen that is delivering us from the malaise of much of Rohr’s era and you are busy detecting people that are too happy.

Why won’t they be happy, some of our players came in few hours before our first match,is that proper planning? But our coach is using experience to make things appear smooth. Don’t you now see that every victory is some story to tell @ Monkey Post?

Sha but if u don’t gerrit, for gera bourit

          • MONKEY POST 2 years ago

What is the fire brigade approach there and experience from Eguavon When you have the team and logistics at your disposal. 85 percent of all the faces there are familiar faces. Faces that we know under rohr. Apart from Awoniyi is it the scorers like Moses simon or chukweze that got his break in the team under rohr that we don’t know? So what are you saying?

    • Supatemmy 2 years ago

Oga keep quiet abeg… u dey type rubbish since

  • Eguavoen should try Ejuke and Moses Simon combination and see the outcome

  • MONKEY POST 2 years ago

Over celebrating a victory against a team that is 33 in Africa and 125 in the world is a shame. I mean Over hyping a victory against a country that we give aid/supply virtually every to from electricity to lending of funds is really uncalled for. SMH..

    • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

What about the loss to CAR in WCQ atleast Sudan ranknahead of CAR. You are a negative person….. I’m sure it translates into your real life.

      • Chidozie 2 years ago

That user is a kid, you can tell from his comments.

      • That’s the wisdom behind a friendly against a club side like Coton Sport. It looked like a nonsense friendly and nay sayers questioned why Nigerians should be celeberating victory ofver a club side, but it was key to the coach working out THIS EFFICIENCY you’ve spotted, very key.

Bye bye to Rohr’s era of mostly dull football.

    • Mr…what is wrong with you? Many of us supported Rohr because NFF was unfair to him and the timing of his sacking was inappropriate but then, we will keep supporting our darling SE irrespective of whoever is in charge.

Kindly cheer up and stop criticizing the team unnecessary.

  • pompei 2 years ago

The Iwobi goal from a clever Iheanacho assist that the ref disallowed, I’m still trying to figure out what happened.
Iheanacho almost burst into tears protesting the ref’s decision.
It was really Ref Gomez versus Nigeria in the 2nd half. Gomez made mighty use of his whistle to give undue advantages to the Sudanese.
If our boys had not raised their game, we might have drawn or even lost this game. I see this ref awarding a dubious penalty in the dying minutes of the match and giving Sudan a shock victory. I hope we don’t encounter any more refs like this charlatan as the tournament progresses.
After this game, Ref Gomez should be thanked profusely, and sent back to wherever he came from. Good riddance to jazzing nonsense!

  • Not convinced Nwakali is ripe for SE level yet. Sadiq shows flashes and should come good starting the next game. Hopefully, it’ll be an entirely new 11 with the likes of Ebuehi, Olayinka Peter, Ndah, Collins, Awaziem, Ejuke, Uzoho and co.

    • AWONIYI HAS SHOWN US WHAT HE CAN DO PLUS HE HAS A GOAL TO HIS NAME. GOOD FOR HIM. I THINK ITS TIME HE RESTS AND SOME OTHER PLAYER STARTS IN THE ATTACK.
SADIQ WILL BE MY CHOICE AND I WOULD LIKE TO SEE CHIDERA START AS WELL IN THE NEXT GAME.
OUR VALUABLE PLAYERS SHOULD BE RESTED LIKE NDIDI, ARIBO, IHEANACHO, SIMON.
LETS SEE WHAT THE OTHERS HAVE TO OFFER.
IM GLAD THAT NWAKAILI PLAYED LONGER TODAY SAME AS IWOBI. NWAKALI DID WELL MOVING THE BALL AROUND THE MIDFIELD WHILE IWOBI DID A GOOD JOB MOVING THE BALL TO THE PLAYERS UPFRONT.
LET THEM BOTH START THE NEXT GAME AND LET SADIQ START AS WELL, LETS SEE IF THERE WILL BE A DIFFERENCE IN THE RESULT.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE TEAM, CONGRATULATIONS TO MOSES SIMON THE MAN OF THE MATCH, SO FAR HE IS THE SUPER EAGLES BEST PLAYER IN THE COMPETITION.
      KEEP IT UP GUY’S.

    Good one for naija today
    More wins we pray

Those of una wey d shout bring Sadiq he is a baller this n that, am still waiting to see that his magic ooh, not base on edited 2mins clip,
Those of us clamouring for Nwakali, he is this and that, I never still see that his R2 pass ooh, exquisite long pass, best short in target, once he comes in our midfield loses its tempo, can’t even make a forward pass,
Most of you guys here said he is better that Iwobi and I can still see some ppl making up excuses for the there sluggishness (Nwakali and Sadiq) if they are that good, I wonder what they are still doing in div2.
Iwobi came and his presence was felt all through the game despite club performance. See split passes
Everything’s was excellent. Passes made in heaven
Who have seen a better split pass than that of Iwobi ever since Again started abeg
    Make una tell me
    Always appreciate what u have
IWOBI IS OUR BEST ATTACKING MIDFIELDER FOR NOW TILL FURTHER NOTICE, TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT
    ATLEAST IT HAVE BEEN PROVEN

  • GentleD 2 years ago

Congrats to the guys and all of us Nigerians.
    Observations:
In as much as we got the job done, I still feel we still kinda need some creativity still in that midfield (a confident ball holder cum leader) because I still want to see some fluid transition from defence to midfield and then into the final third. Going long half of the time is not the way to go my people (too many aimless kicks/long balls forward to nobody).

As per Kele Nwakali, I think he would still come good maybe just lacking the needed self believe and confidence to play at this level. I very much believe with regular football at club level, he would build that needed confidence.

Awoniyi is very industrious (uses his frame to cause good chaos to opposing defenders) but I want to believe the pressure to deliver coupled with stage fright seems to be taking a toll on him but he would sure come off good.

Sadiq; I am not really sure what to make of his impact in this team yet.

Super eagles doesn’t need sodiq umar type of striker, Desser on Holland league is more better and aggregate than umar sodiq

    • Footballfanatic 2 years ago

Dessers is definitely faster than sodiq…. Sodiq is just like Onuachu. We can’t have 2 Onuachus or Sadiqs in one team lol

      • pompei 2 years ago

Hahahaha, wetin Onuachu do you na?
        O my goodness, that’s funny.

      • Sean T 2 years ago

@Footballfanatic, you’re right bro. I don’t see much difference between him and Onuachu. Not that the duo are not good but they are slow on the ball

  • pompei 2 years ago

Egypt is sweating profusely against GB. Half time, nil-nil.
Egypt has the greater possession, but they are struggling to create chances. So far, GB is holding their own defensively. But with Salah, Egypt may still be able to snatch the 3 points at stake.

    • chuxs 2 years ago

Did u see the poor officiating by the officials. How was that a freekick. he never touched the player. That was a great equalizer. Am suspecting the VAR team are arabs

      • pompei 2 years ago

Chuxs, I was also surprised that the goal was disallowed. Na wa!
He did put his hands on the Egyptian, and seemed to pull him back. But for me, that’s normal football contact. It’s a contact sport. Anyway, it’s the ref’s call to make.

        • chuxs 2 years ago

Na my brother, it’s not like he grabbed the players shoulder and he fell. That’s pure robbery. This is why some players are questioning this ref. was dying for a draw so bad.

  • Sean T 2 years ago

A grear performance from the team. So fans should stop putting unnecessary pressure on the players You don’t kill yourself over a team that don’t pose much threat on the field of play otherwise you will pick up a needless injuries which is not good during a tournament. My only worries is that Chukwueze is becoming so predictable with the way he plays. If am opportuned to advise the coach, i will suggest he move him away from the wing and let him always come in as a sub for Ihaenacho. Chukwueze also have ability to play in through ball to top striker from outside the box playing as supporting striker. Also playing from that position will give him opportunity to curl in shot from outside the box when he is in good range. Iwobi could play from the right side of the midfield and inter change position with Aribo. Finally, the coach need to talk to Aina, you don’t just give away needless penalty like that. For God sake the guy is not posing any meaningful threat from his position. In conclusion, i will rate the whole team 7/10. Could have been 9/10 but for not keeping a clean sheet.

@Monkey post stop wishing super eagles bad. Check my name you will know that am a die hard fan of Rohr because of the pit he brought out super eagles from. I supported him because people hated him even though he was doing so many things right. He qualified us for this tournament. Our wicked NFF treated him bad and God has his price for them. They may feel they are rich, but problems can come in different angles like sickness.

Turn your eyes from Rohr and support the SE, see how @Dr. Drey commenting maturedly without bitterness. Nigeria should come first at this moment. Don’t give those racist any reason to be mentioning Rohrs name. The SE eagles played well and I like the way Equavon is using Moses Simon.

Thanks man, much love to all.

  • Omo9ja 2 years ago

Two wins in two games. Kai, I am super proud of you Super Eagles.

However, people are complaining about Nwakali really? We can clearly see that he’s new in the team and in today’s match, he brought calmness into the Super Eagles.

No doubt, Nwakali is a baller but he should be able to prove himself in this tournament no matter what.

On the other hand, it easier a bit for Awoniyi to connect with Nacho because each of them not new to each other but on Umar Sodiq and Nwakali, the two are totally new and it take time for some players to adjust and adapt to a new environment.

However, I am expecting Mr. No nonsense to give unused players an opportunity to play in our last game.

For sure, coach Eguavoen by now will be thinking about his strikers as we are heading to the second round of the competition.

He made a huge mistake by ignoring Dessers. Dessers adapted quickly at Feyenoord and this should be something the coach would have considered in the situation NFF found themselves. Amaju should thank God that Nigeria is doing well in this tournament.

Hopefully Mr. No nonsense will use Olayinka in our last group match.

One thing I like about Mr. Eguavoen is that, there’s room for correction.

Congratulations to coach Eguavoen, his troops and Nigerians. The journey is still far and we are not there yet but with God, all things are possible. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
