Four consecutive defeats for Peppy Pep.
Unfamiliar territory, this. Losing is not something Pep is used to, or takes lightly.
The dressing room will feel the heat of his anger and frustration.
Goes to show how important a good bench is. With vital players out injured, and returning players not yet match fit, Pep has to prosecute the last few games with young players. Of all the missing players, he arguably misses Rodri the most, because he is so important to Pep’s playing philosophy.
As for Liverpool, they sit pretty on their perch with a 5 point lead. A deserved lead, in my opinion. They are like a well oiled machine nowadays. Efficient, smooth, sleek. The defense is tight, the goals are flowing, it’s looking really good for the Reds.
But it’s still early days yet. Still a lot of football to be played.
