Ademola Lookman equaled Super Eagles legend Finidi George’s Copa del Rey feat after scoring in Saturday’s final against Real Sociedad.
Lookman was on target for Atletico as he drew them level in the 19th minute, after Sociedad took the lead just seconds into the game.
It was his third goal for Diego Simeone’s men in the Spanish Cup competition.
According to OptaJose, Lookman is now the second Nigerian player to score in a Copa del Rey final after Finidi George with Real Betis against Barcelona in 1997.
In the 1997 final which Barcelona won 3-2 after extra-time, Finidi scored to put Betis 2-1 ahead on 82 minutes.

After Lookman had equalised for Atletico in Saturday’s final, Sociedad went in front again in the first minute of first half added time from the penalty spot before Julian Alvarez made it 2-2 with seven minutes left in the second half.
Following both teams’ failure to find the winner, the game went to penalties with Sociedad triumphing 4-3 to claim their fourth Copa del Rey title.
For Atletico, the last time they won the Copa del Rey was in 2013, when they came from a goal down to beat city rivals Real Madrid 2-1 after extra-time at the Santiago Bernabeu.

I’d really like to see the face of the Atalanta Coach, the one who said “we have many options, we won’t miss him”.
It’s inexplicably soothing too see Atalanta now struggling to qualify for Europe.
I’l be patiently waiting for that time when like De Laurentis, they will come out to crying in regret.
You cant mistreat a man backed by the prayers of 200m people and not cry in the end
A beg chop knuckle Dare. You don talk am finish.
