Former Nigerian international, Mikel Obi has advised Chelsea not to hesitate to sign Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen next season.
In a chat with TribalFootball, Mikel described Osimhen as a player that knows how to get the goals.
He does not believe their current rebuilding job has been a very impressive one, as the club languishes in midtable.

“We need a striker, simple as that. We need a good one. If you watch (Erling) Haaland, most of his goals, where are they? In the f***ing box. The box. So that’s where we need a striker to score goals – to get in the f***ing box.”
“For me, the one we need is Osimhen because he’s someone who would come in and score goals. He’s not the most technical guy but what he does is get you goals and that’s what we really need, we need goals. When I see him I can tell he is at the Chelsea level and he’ll get better with time.
“But the good thing about him is that he knows what his job is. His job is not to come in and mess around and that whole thing. It’s to score goals.

Mikel rest abeg,Na u wan score the goals? Chelsea are monitoring osimehn at the moment and d boy is not having a good season at Napoli and the goals are not coming yet at AFCON,when they pay big for him and he fluffes his lines in two games,the criticism will come and it might ruin him.allow him to go to where he wants ,let him go to Juventus or Tottenham

I wouldn’t agree with you. Sometimes the coach also contributes in making a player. Why did Osimhen shine under Spaletti and struggled under Rudy Gacia and still struggling under the present coach.
Halaand shining under Pep is because of tactical acumen of Pep.
Under a good coach I gave no doubt Osimhen will shine.
I won’t compare the both players but Haaland scores everywhere he plays and under any manager. Check his stats for Norway, Salzburg and Dortmund. My issue with Osimhen is his technique. Look at that chance yesterday, the way he blazed it over the bar when a simple side-footing was required. I love his energy, fighting spirit and bullish attitude though
All these former African players are working against these players and not on purpose. A Nigerian player life is only for Chelsea, Arsenal or Man utd? What a joke. Its easy to spend money when its not yours. Especially when its an American Owner for all the clubs I mentioned. American owners got money, you dont see other clubs begging to sign these players, the owners are not even American.
I literally saw a recent interview with sky sports again with Osimhen explaining his love for premier league, while also belonging to another league. These people are not smart and its embarrassing. You dont see Cameroonian, Ivory Coast, or Senegalese players desperate to play for english people.
Mikel is a joke, always got something to say everyday. Every Nigerian that comes through just has to play for Chelsea or premier league. Dont do well one season and these english people will eat you alive. Anthony, Havertz, Nunez and Mudryk to name a few. Some of these former players were lucky to win and now they are technical director of football. Watch these players get found out after the transfer.
Victor need not listen to Mikel who didn’t make an attempt to live up to his potential in his football career. After the controversial win against the flying Eagles by Lionel Messi ‘s Argentina team through Fifa officiating referee by awarding him 2 penalties that was never a penalty . Mikel never took strides for once in his life to push harder to become the best in the world instead he became Lionel Messi ‘s Lackey . voting for the same guy who robbed him of his chance at under 20 world Cup glory . what a joke .
Victor is better than that . He doesn’t need to go to Chelsea. . Not that the club is not a good club but in Victor’s case he is needs of a club where he can consistently win laurels and be considered for world player of the year awards as well as champions leagues and other league cups wins . Victor should set his site at becoming Ballon for and world player of the year like George Weah and I don’t believe Chelsea is that club to give him those titles at the moment .
