Moses Helps Spartak Moscow Secure First Russian Cup Title In 19 Years

Victor Moses was in action for Spartak Moscow and played a vital role as they beat city rivals Dinamo Moscow 2-1 in Sunday’s final of the Russian Cup.

Moses featured for 90 minutes as Spartak Moscow won a first Cup title since 2003 and also secured their 14th in the history of the competition.

Spartak Moscow opened scoring in the 10th minute through Aleksandr Sobolev.

Ten minutes into the second half Dinamo Moscow drew level thanks to Arsen Zakharyan.

In the 72nd minute Spartak Moscow went ahead again this time off the boot of Quincy Promes.

Dinamo Moscow had a golden opportunity to equalize when they were awarded a penalty but Daniil Fomin missed nine minutes into added time.

Moses has now won his first trophy since joining the Russian topflight club.

During his time at Chelsea, he won both the FA Cup and the Europa League.

He scored three goals, provided five assists in 34 appearances in all competitions this season.

The winner of the Russian Cup ordinarily got a spot in the UEFA Europa League group stage.

However, all Russian clubs, as well as the national team, have been barred from European competition due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Spot on brotherman Ugo. Only Victor Moses can come back. We do not need Ighalo and Musa. Heaven bless Victor Moses and all deserving retired Super Eagles players. Lolzzzz Za Za Za Za

      • I think the people running our ball have thier priorities in the wrong places yes Only Victor Moses can come back, However how can a player like Moses who has done so much for Nigerian football not be petted like Ighalo and Musa imagine if you were VM and you see all the news coming out from Nigeria how Pinnick personally flew to middle east and begged Ighalo to come back, the same period Moses was doing all sorts of Wonders to Napoli and Leicester City?.. I mean our NFF officials are the ones to blame. i personally feel had Pinnick made the same efforts he made with Ighalo for Victor Moses Nigeria would be in Qatar thats what I mean. and why can no single Nigerian see that?… If Spartak was Not forced out of Europa league because of Vladimir Putin we would have witnessed a Europa League final with 4 Nigerian players. Bassey, Balogun, Aribo and Victor Moses. Nigeria NFF officals need to get their head out of ther Yansh.. It is a No brainer this is the Man that was the reason Nigeria qualified to Russia 2018
