Luton Town striker, Elijah Adebayo, has said his mum would be happy if he decides to play for Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
Adebayo was born in Brent, England, but has never made any appearance at international level.
The 26-year-old has been impressive for relegation battlers, Luton who are on 20 points and just one point away from the relegation zone.
He has netted nine goals in 23 Premier League games this season.

Speaking on where his international future lies, the striker revealed:“I would like to play for Nigeria,” Adebayo told The Times.
“It would make my mum happy, make her proud. That’s something we’ve spoken about.
“Playing for England? It would be a case of whichever comes first. My mum would be proud if I played for Nigeria or England, but Nigeria especially.”
If he eventually switch his allegiance to play for Nigeria, Adebayo would follow them path taken by the likes of Ola Aina, Semi Ajayi, Calvin Bassey, William Troost-Ekong, Ademola Lookman and Leon Balogun.

This is a type of players that gives their heart for national duty . They are not deceived by the possibility of playing for England.
This boy is so hungry to play for NIGERIA….
This is the type of zeal we need in the team.
When Osimhen-Boniface combo is weak…. ADEBAYO-Iheanacho combo can upset the opponent…..
Iheanacho long accepted APOTY, Osimhen as his boss na. He’s now allowed to wear the jersey that’s if it fits and m, lolo
Ol boy I like your enthusiasm but Iheanacho is not like you’re thinking bros, you need to know, yes he is senior man etc etc and he must always be amongst but he is only an impact sub – to be thinking of him in the terms that you seem to be is missing the point – But by all means let’s draft Adebayo in, he has even displaced Luton’s main established strike Morris and he is now their numero uno – we’ve all seen what Adingra showed for the D’Ivoirians, Elijah can be invaluable for Nigeria!
And actually, while we’re at it, why don’t we try and get Peter Effanga’s boy again? I know he has represented England but only like once if at all, why don’t we try and bring Ross Barkley in? He is going great guns at the moment and may shine in the 9ja team, I would try at least to see if we could get him both with him consenting and the rules allowing – if we did get him, then we can see what he is like playing for the SE’s and if he’s not what we need in the middle then at least we would have tried abi ke?
The Super Eagles attack is oozing with so much talents and quality. Methink our focus now should be the midfield. We need to begin search for creative hub in the middle. So much qualities in the attack and in the defensive midfield areas.
True –
Another player Nigeria need to start monitoring from right now is 17 year old Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba – this kid is a marauding box to box goal scoring midfielder who has been doing so well and scoring so many goals from the middle that he has now been promoted to Aston Villa’s first team – Peseiro, prick your ears chairman.
Are there players in the army barracks in Europe that Nigeria needs to be monitoring?
I am recommending following MIDFIELDERS and DEFENDERS asap:
1. Michael Folorunsho.. Verona
2. Ifeanyin Matthew..Fc Zurich
3. Sunday Tijani..Hertbarg
4. Fikayo BASHIRU..Hatayaspor
5. Shaun ADEWOYE.. Warwick
6. Gabriel Osho..Luton
7. Tosin Adarabioyo..Fulham
8. Michael Kayode..Fiorentina (better than Aina currently)
9.
Having Michael Kayode would definitely be a great addition . Nevertheless , I would appreciate it that you appreciate Ola Aina . That guy played his all at the nation’s Cup and for all I care he’s probably one of the best wing backs in this modern era . Stop comparing Michael Kayode to Ola when he’s yet to show much of what he can offer should he choose to represent Nigeria.
We still need more players such Koleosho who can be an asset in the wings . Apart from Moses Simon shos been amazzing . A guy like Koleosho would help enhance that side of the team seeing what happened at afcon especially when Chukwueze failed to deliver.
We are in need of a number 10 desperately anda number 3.
All the list you point out, I’m sure NFF have most of it but would do some politics on the choice of players they need in the team . Imagine how it took them this long before considering Stanley Nwaballi . assuming they used Uzohor, Nigeria would have packed out of Afcon so early . It’s in the court as I speak .
Guys see Awoniyi goal against West Ham what a goal.
